It'll be interesting to see if we hold Palmer back as well.

Daisy had a good 3rd quarter last week, so can't expect another for 7 or 8 rounds.
Smedts is very stiff, but if the weather is as bad as predicted, both he and Palmer should be a chance.

Would've thought some outside speed like BB would help... But what would I know

Smedts vs Kerridge....hmmmm...not sure we're going places when that is the vexing selection tradeoff. I would have preferred to see somebody like Cunningham get a run or even Graham. If we are all in for development lets get games into another kid as well.

Smedts 25yrs
Kerridge 24
Graham 23

At what age or stage of development to you call it quits?

HUN reporting that Carlton are tanking and Williamson will make his debut on Sunday.

Yes, this is just outright stupidity. Almost any of our regular posters could get some freelance work popping out articles for some of these clowns.

In the first instance, anyone with more than 3 brain cells banging together in their skull is going to be reluctant to make too many bold statements after 2 rounds of football. I can think of a few teams over the last couple of seasons who have had complete form reversals from one season to the next. Fremantle anyone? Furthermore, there have been teams who have had incredible starts to the season, only to languish in the second half and go from undefeated at the top, to not making the eight or being embarrased in the first week of the finals.....

In the second instance, we lost to Richmond who just beat top four fancy WCE and sit on top of the ladder (as I write this). We also lost to Melbourne who have been widely touted as a top 8 team before the season even started. As I write this, they are undefeated also, and are playing a great game against Geelong and may well win (or at least take an honorable loss).

We were tipped by 99% of the media to finish on the bottom of the ladder. As we currently have a 0-2 record, and seem to be fulfilling their bold predictions, how can they be surprised or imply tanking when they expected this outcome with 100% of our teams effort? Maybe I am mistaken and they were actually predicting, pre-season, that we would tank this season away?

I am really excited about this season. I think we will continue to improve as the season rolls on and we will take some scalps that no one would have thought we would take. Our clearances are already significantly better than last season and lasts weeks game against Melbourne was significantly better than the previous week. Tomorrow we play Essendon*, and they too are undefeated. What's been most exciting about this season has been watching SPS, SOJ, Marchbank, Pickett, and Macreadie. I'm so happy they've selected Williamson although I'm not sure about the team balance. Can't wait to see the kid. His highlight reel excited me more than all the others. Hope we get to see Mckay or KJ soon, and would like to see Cunningham and Fisher break in at some stage.

GO BLUES

I'm not sure why Kerridge is selected unless Cripps won't play.
Palmer did not play with the Northern Blues today

I'm just thrilled that the ex is coming over to watch the game with me today.
Just-totally-delighted.
I'm thinking if I prime him with plenty of tea or beer, he'll have to pee...at which time I could unplug TV if necessary and blame Telstra.

Smedts is 24: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/player-profile/billie-smedts
Kerridge is 23: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/player-profile/sam-kerridge
Graham is 22: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/player-profile/nicholas-graham

I know their respective birthdays are not far away, but why does everyone on this site always feel the need to add an extra year to the ages of players??

I remember the last time I was arguing with someone about this exact issue their response was something along the lines of "Because that's the age he will be by the end of this season". i.e. October. :screwy:

Does my head in!!
