BTW the media is quite correct re our huge personnel turnover and that were 9 (?) recruits from other clubs.

I would say most clubs have a high number of "imports". Melb last night would've had close to 9.

Any statistician have the import numbers starting in their respective teams 22?

Great to win and away when Freo desperate for a win
Pros
Byrne looks like player we hoped he will be
Cripps Gibbs Simpson docherty and Murph Curnow all good

Lamb Kerridge and wright have all been good acquisitions
Despite kicking for goal Casboult much better and better playing up ground
Credit to Jones redeeming himself
Another game into sumner Plowman Weitering Byrne C Curnow
Not perfect but forward line with 2 key forwards looks better
A rebuilt defence in 6 months Weitering docherty Plowman Byrne hopefully basis for next 6-10 years
Rowe apart from one error best game this year
Cons
Skills/disposal ordinary
Kicking for goal ordinary
Should have put Freo away a couple of times but didn't have the skill to do it
Kicking into forward line horrendous

Who was the last team to win when the opposition had 100 tackles?

Congrats Brendan Bolton.Your first win as a Carlton coach...............The skipper was magnificent for mine.He set the tone with his fantastic attack on the footy.Never fliched all game.Lead by EXAMPLE.
Dress it up,or tare it apart,a win is a win..................fact is we have some new kids on the block who have real talent, and more importantly have genuine desire. And theyy go in hard for the ball.

The Carlton Football Club............Now,Always,and Forever.

My apologies...I convinced myself you wrote something about the highest win/loss ratio over the last 3 years or something like that in your rebuttal of my innocuous post

Historical footnote: The Blues and Dockers haven't played in Melbourne since 2010. Makes an away win a little sweeter...

I heard Send Us. I know what you'd like it to be, but I've been wanting to explain why it is "They send us" for a long time without causing too much angst.

You have to work out who is it referring to when they state "they". Who could "They" be? if it is "They".

Our society in Australia for at least the first 150 years was based on the Principles of Christianity. In fact locks of land, Glebe, were given to and owned by the church, many of our cricket grounds and footy grounds were once parish land....there's more Christian connection to be found today when we consider swearing on the Bible, Abortion laws, and it was un Christian to have children out of wedlock before the 60's...you name it, all laws and hence beliefs were centred around Christianity. You know, heaven, Angels, God, Jesus...those up there in the clouds; the "They".

Our champions are sent to us from the heavens. They are made by God. Thank heavens.

By the way I'm an agnostic. Its just the way life was when the club song was written.

I'd always thought 'they' would be the opposition clubs, as in "yeah you might have a few stars, but we're a champion team."

Omg. Not that old chestnut again. Like all things in modern society, like "wake up and smell the coffee" and "sooner rather than later", this has now been bastardised.

But let me assure you all, when we were kids, it was definitely "send up", not "send us", which incidentally doesn't make sense, doesn't rhyme, and has no rhythm with the rest of the song.

Blue dog is correct.

Still makes sense, because if you send someone north of where you are, it's common parlance to say you've sent them 'up north'.
