Evidently there is no youth ready to come in? Just like Buckley wasn't ready.

I'm starting to think the selectors have NFI who is ready and who isn't.

It must be ok to lose to a rabble like Brisbane , no biggy carry on gents. This club doesn't develop youth it destroys it!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but didn't channel 9's Corey Norris embarrass himself this evening?

Just saw his 'report' from Princes Park. Obviously he felt betrayed that Judd had told him he wouldn't be playing any footy this week, only for it to be revealed later on that he would be. Poor old Corey must've gone with the 'exclusive' and then been proven incorrect.

He had this to say.

"Not sure why Chris Judd is playing these sorts of games at this stage of his career... Showing scant regard for Carlton fans."

No, Corey. If he's provided misleading information the only person he's shown scant regard for is you.

What a peanut.

I beg to differ. Media are used to communicate to the public. If he's playing vfl, why not just say so? Our communication is rubbish.

I saw it and agree with MC. Since when is taking the piss out of reporters "showing scant regard for Carlton fans". He announced with the sombre tone of someone announcing a murder. Seriously, Corey. Get over yourself.

He said Judd himself was showing scant regard. Perhaps Corey should consider the club might've wanted to break the news themselves, not have it broadcast by a barnacle clinging to the players entrance who has a twitter account.

The media deserve little respect in the first place, I've no sympathy when one of them is made to look the fool. Consider how they chase and harass the target of the day, then whinge when it doesn't go their way or they don't get the story they wanted.

Why not give one of Graham, Holman or Johnson a run. And don't tell me there not bloody ready.

From memory everyone including you said Buckley wasn't ready and didn't have good form in the two's.

They couldn't be any worse than some of the players last week.

But Carazzo and McLean can lead the way instead.

They are both much better players than Judd- everyone knows this. Carazzo once won a best and fairest back in 2007 and McLean came 2nd in Melbourne's B&F of 2008. They are the future. Geelong will be scared to know how to match up against Carazzo and McLean. Who to match up? Geelong will be quaking in their boots obviously.

Agree.

His first minute for 3 possessions against the Doggies showed his standing in the game let alone in the Carlton team circa 2014.

I'm joining this queue! Sorry to disappoint you 2 but I feel the same.

Quick question for all of you: when was the last time Judd missed this much football in an AFL season?

Answer: never. After consultation with the medicos, he's starting in the VFL. Guess he's human after all.

I said that about Buckley. I can see a spot for Graham if other players fall away but the areas with which we are decimated by injury & bad recruitment are pretty much bare right now.

We won't go like for like if we lost a tall, for example. We'll get Everitt and Walker to plug the holes and bring in a small. Temay wouldn't come in for Garlett despite being the next bloke on the small forward depth chart; we'd rejig the midfield or defensive unit and bring another small in.

Casboult will be dropped when Kreuzer is ready to return; if not him, then Waite. That's good for the footy club when it happens. There's pressure on some other spots on the ground but the margins are so small that once you factor in the senior players capabilities now and what they'll be when they're properly match fit, the youngster falls to the wayside pretty significantly.

The VFL side is not so threadbare that it can't showcase talent when talent is on show. A few of these kids just need to dig deep and show they have what it takes without dismantling the team game at that level. That'll get them into the AFL side if someone's not playing to the standard required. Last week's lost was a little about under estimating the opposition (bad), a little bit about not adapting on the field to the tactics employed by Brisbane (tactics the players had seen before and did not identify and shut down in the first quarter; bad), and then the fitness levels of some returning players hurt us in the last quarter (a risk, and not one that would have been eliminated by the next tier of players in the squad save for maybe Lucas).

Why? You don't think we had passengers last week?

As a singular player example, Waite stupidly gave the 50 in the last 1/4, handballed to a team mate under the hammer and failed to lay the simplest of shepherds leading to a turnover and more than once didn't chase out of defence (on one of those occasions, Daisy ran straight past him to chase and affect the kick).

MM can't have failed to notice that.

I have always been a fan of Waite but he was dropped for it this earlier this year. By MM letting it go, as he has, what message does that send to the others?

I'd rather pick teams on effort than star power. Jarrod is clearly in our best 22 but shouldn't be if he doesn't GAF.

It's going to be tough to get close to the pussies. Who have we got who can match up on Blitzarse? Walker perhaps?

Oh noes! Dylan Buckley isn't playing!
His game style for such a small body surely has no impact on him! He's superman!

Why oh why don't you play the kids? Even though they had the bye last week and have been getting beaten badly every week in the ressies!

Sick of many repeatedly saying just play the kids, just play the kids, even if they re not ready for AFL, the game time will be good for their development.....
Nick Graham's been racking them up in the VFL... Doesn't matter that he doesn't hurt sides with his possessions, he'll do ok at AFL level given enough time.
So we field a team of kids like people want, get smashed by 100 points by Geelong and Hawthorn because we fielded a weak side, the Club goes into meltdown, and this is meant to be good for the kids development ?

Maybe he's just going to the twos for a break. The kids can't play the entire season and playing tired on StevieJ might scar him for life.
