Not sure if we've posted that already :(

From the Blueseum

A wonderful achievement for Jeffy and those who've assisted him along the way.

WOW, unless we've made a mistake on site it also looks like he was our most recent Rising Star nominee:

In 2010

From the Bluesuem

Correct :banghead:

BTW no Carlton player has won the award since its inception in 1993

Don't normally comment on team suggestions but there is no way in hell Ellard will be dropped after last week :)

I'm thinking the Tigers by 7 or 8 goals.

If we lose to the Tigers its all part of the grand plan by Dr Strangelove. Surely we can wait another 10 years.

Graham another strong performance in the reserves. Must be a real chance to play this game.

We all witnessed the last quarter fade outs against NM, Adel and Port.
Seems to be a trend, or is it a lack of match fitness.

On the flip side we look at our 1st and 2nd quarter efforts as well as our 3ed Qtr figh backs and there seems to be another Carlton we all should admire.

The pressure we put on Port in the first half was relentless and a sign that a fit Carlton can beat their opponent in tough gritty physical games, and more accuracy in front of goals would put heaps more scoreboard pressure on our opponents too.

Our lack of anything left in the tank in the 4th Qtrs, if that IS the short term issue, can be fixed over a week to week basis, and maybe some better use of the interchange, sub and personnel.

Having read Crawfords article gives me the feeling he's just guessing and filling space just as the rest of the footy world is regadring the result of this game. There's no substance in his article...just theorising. So reading that article just galvinises my belief that we are better than what the doomsdayers are saying.

Hampson's inside knowledge...is he serious? Mute point.

Coach's spray and naming players putting the acid on them to perform?....Every player knows the importance of this game, and players named last week will have opponents placing plenty of pressure on them. They need to beat their opponent first before they consider themselves starring in response to the spray, or they will play the game in their head before the bounce. Mute point.

Last year's elimination final loss as the catalyst for a turn around in result? I think the Tigers will go hard to revenge the result but also the loss must give the players some doubt too.

It is a 50-50 game imo.
We have shown better form than Richmond thus far this year.
The loss against Port in the last Qtr has turned the media against us and the negative reporting on our club and the players on our list should be enough motivation to turn this result in our favour.

Need Cachia/ Curnow to smother Cotchin/Ellis. That can help stop supply into their forwardline.

Waite, Hendo, Kreuzer as forward targets should stretch the Tigers if we can find our forwards with better passes by foot....well that's halh the challenege.

Plenty of room for improvement from round 1 plus there were some great signs from the team that played that seems to have been totally ignored.

I have faith we will turn our season around. Last week was only round 1 in a 22 round season. We werent ready for the real stuff and challenge of the 4th Qtr against a top 8 team who was primed.

I'd like to see Kreuzer go to Vickery down back and bring in Casboult up forward.

There is no way that Kruz will play CHB, if he is our answer there, then we are doomed, he has to play ruck or the 2nds. IMO we should have traded him when he had some currency....his is finished

I would like to see him tried down back before we get rid of him. A lot of FF these days are the 2nd ruckman so it makes sense to play another ruckman or ruckman size on them. I don't rate Kruezer forward and Warnock seems the better tap ruckman. This way we can see if he can play the role, get some confidence again and possibly learn what it is like to be a forward by playing on some of the better ones (that isn't Vickery obviously).
Henderson got some confidence by playing down back and now plays a lot better forward than he did previously. I think it is a worthwhile experiment, which will allow Henderson to play forward and Kreuzer to get some match fitness back too. If it does come down to trading him later on, playing him in the 2s isn't going to do his currency much good. If we play him back and he is still not performing clubs will at least look to grab him and say we should have played him in the ruck.

as there is little chance of us making the finals, let alone do anything,
i would like too see some kids getting a game..
so no chance but,
simpson jamison buckley
everitt watson scotland
yarran cripps tuohy
menzel henderson thomas
casboult waite garlett
kreuzer murphy gibbs
I/C; ellard curnow graham
SUB; holman
-sick and tired of seeing yarran playing a run with roll.... jetta and cyril don't play that roll.... joke
yarran is a play maker, simple.....
-cripps is ready..
-buckley, holman and graham will add youth, enthusiasm, pace and skill..[the future].
-things get out of control, henderson goes back and we still have waite and casboult forward..
-curonw goes to cotchin.
