There'll be no immediate success with Mick IMO - probably a mini-rebuild coming at the end of the season.
Supporters looking for a flag in the short term should re-evaluate.
Agree, but having said that I thought the club hired a 59 year old bloke on a mill a season for immediate success.
Actually its a 3 year contract... depends on what your definition of immediate is......
A three year contract means 3 years.... unless im mistaken
I see us as a longer term job than 3 years. I will concede though that he unexpectedly got Coll into a GF in his third year in 2002
Hope it works out the same way at Carlton but I would've interviewed & given the job to the guy who presented the best long term view, preferably a young coach (& saved ourselves a few hundred k). As Grroo says, massive job ahead reprogramming mentally & physically. And no tall forward.
As I've said before, I'm not a Malthouse hater, never was - I actually quite like hearing the guy talk about footy. I just thought his appointment was just so typical Carlton. In my view we did what footy clubs have done before when they've made the finals - overestimated our list.
