If Adelaide beat Freo at AAMI we're only a game out of the eight given North play Essendon*. North play Freo later on too. Win every game and we still would get in i'd say.

Their treatment of Ellard and Collins isn't that flash either.

agree wholeheartedly - why is collins always one of the first to go and curnow stays?

Collins can make mistakes but I like the way he tries to be creative. A certain Geelong player does it very well.

It would appear we are trying to have a look at a few players whilst remaining competative.

Tough ask for Ratts to get the balance right and hold onto his job. But they are picking guys (unless they have no option) with solid VFL form.

I think it would be much easier for him to pick the known quantities such as Ellard and Thornton.

Great changes.
Watson for Jammo
Robbo and Walker are musts.
Joseph we know
O'Keeffe we don't

Assuming Jamo is unavailable but Robbo, Watson & Walker are OK....

OUT- Jamo (inj), AJ, Curnow, Davies
IN- Robbo, ROK, Walker, Watson

If Casboult needs a rest, bring in T-Bird (Mitchell's not ready, IMO). If Scotland needs a rest, bring in Lucas. If McIness needs a rest, bring in Duigan.

J Brown is licking his lips with no Jamo or Hendo in the side and our backline looks slow with Watson & White in it. Bower has the closing speed to replace Jamo, but I don't think they will pick him. He didn't play in the VFL last week, so he might be injured anyway. And McCarthy isn't ready.

Tuohy isn't setting the world on fire at the moment, but I'd persist with him ahead of AJ & Davies.

Give ROK a chance to prove he should be at the club next year. And don't play him as the Sub - give him the chance to work into the game from the 1st bounce.

B: Tuohy Watson McInnes
HB: Yarran White Gibbs
C: Scotland Robbo ROK
HF: Armfield Waite Simmo
F: Betts Casboult Walker

R: Kreuzer Carrazzo Murphy
Inter: Brock, Collins, Garlett
Sub: Bell

I was close this week! Only missed Collins getting dropped instead of Curnow...

Midfield is potentially a bit slow with Curnow, Brock & ROK. Bell & Scotland not overly quick either.

And backline looks slow and inexperienced too.

Irrelevant games now anyway, just play the kids and see what they do.

Best kicking defence in a long while if they lined up with the named side.

I thought Curnow worked hard last week - yeah he's a turnover merchant but he ran his guts out at least.

Bit more interested in this week's game now.

Hasnt O'Keeffe been performing as an onball/HF in VFL? Id like to see him play that position in the seniors, we have enough people rotating through HB.
Like the changes overall. But we are going to struggle covering their key forwards with one KPD with a dozen games under his belt(looks the goods though) plus two third tall types with equal to lesser experience. Big assignment, will be good to see them have a dip but would of liked a plan B possibility.

Disappointed to see Collins ommitted.

His form may be up and down but I think he'd benefot more from stringing 8 games together than a spell in the VFL.

That's the spirit jim.

I needed something to get the juices going (but that doesn't mean I don't just love watching the boys play)

We have to win every game and make up plenty of % to get there though.

Fingers are crossed.

C'mon.

known quantity in Ellard but looks pretty clear that he TBird and Sugar are on the outer. You have to question at the moment what is the objective for the year that remains? Is this the honest best team we can field with a slim chance remaining of finals? Have decisions been made on certain players? Are we seriously playing "the kids"? I cannot really work out what we are doing but the MC has baffled me all year

I know there's a lot of love for TBird and last year he was pretty good but at the moment we can't play TBird at the same time as Casboult. They are both ordinary with defensive pressure and you can't afford to have the opposition running of two slow forwards.

Casboult plays ahead of TBird because he's the second ruck.

Lucas (who I rated higher than most) hasn't shown the flint needed in a hard contest and according to River Rats reports, doesn't get his hands dirty in the magoos.

Thornton's form (5 goals last week) should have at least got him an interchange spot - there's nobody, except Eddie, nailing our forward line to keep players out...

Here we go again.
Scream for Ratts and the MC to look at new players and then scream when he does it because we want the old favourites back.
Here's something that's been posted by many.

If we don't give players like O'Keefe at least a couple of games, how do we know if he's even in the ballpark before we write him off as an injury-prone failure?
Watson was dropped and people went berserk that he hadn't been treated fairly. Well he's back and we want Thornton in his stead.
Ellard's qualities and faults are well known but we want him back in the team in place of ....Curnow. Curnow is fast. No, he's slow. He's soft. No, he's good at creating stoppages.
We need harder at it mids. Give Lucas a go. Put Collins in the midfield. Rest Bell, it's good for his development.

I know this is a public forum and full of people with different ideas but honestly, if we take it too seriously there is a problem.

You can please some of the people all of the time.
You can please all of the people some of the time.
But you can't please all of the people all of the time.
Abraham Lincoln said that.

I'll let you be in my team if I can be in your'un
Bob Dylan said (almost) that.

Yeah but Ratts hate Thornton and where's JR and how come AJ is out and why isn't Davies and Army can't kick and Sticks is hopeless and don't get me started on Greg Swann and the boards already offered Mick Ratt's job and Sticks is hopeless and and and and and and and and and and
