I was at the game and about mid way through the second quarter, even when we were on top, I turned and said to my mate that we had put the cue in the rack. It was more noticeable in the players off the ball who were just walking around with no real energy or intent to get their hands dirty.

Make no mistake, if we play like the first quarter against the Bombers for the whole game, we will absolutely demoralise them.

The actual quote from Ratten is

"Outside of (Mark) Austin and (Paul) Bower, the next tallest player we had available on our list was about 186cm. We haven't got a lot of depth in our talls,"

St Kilda had to flood their arses off against a disinterested looking team who were a man down for most of the match to grind out an ugly win.

If we turn up ready to play we will easily account for the Bombers, they're unlikely to station 15 men in our forward 50 for the whole game.

St Kilda fielded a team with an average age of 27 compared to our 24. 15 of their 22 have played 100+ games compared to 8 of our players. We had 7 players with less than 50 games, they had 1. They may have started the season slowly but they have a very experienced side taking the field at the right time of the season.

Dont know why people are reading so much into this game.

Even Ross Lyon questioned whether we were going full tilt due to having nothing on the game.

Surely that should be proof enough that we werent working all that hard..

Similar to the Pies.. It is the willingness to run back and help that goes missing when there is nothing to play for..The gut-busting running does not exist..Despite this, we came within 20 points of a team that is now "the dark-horse" in this premiership...

I would be more worried if i was a Saint supporter

Agreed, they even had to pull out the old "Full back to full forward" trick to win the game FFS!

Watched the game finally, we played bruise free footy.. Low intensity, didnt tackle. Only way we will lose this week is if we play too many underdone players

Very uncool JK...

without wanting to turn this into an NFL forum... we will surprise many teams...will be 7-9 or 8-8 this year...not 2-14 as most would think

Also, Sexy Rexy has been to a superbowl before....
