quite right, Murph was quiet but did enough.

I feel our best is yet to come, the Essendon* draw did a lot for our character.

Let's give Essendon* credit for our win before the Herald Sun do.

What a fantastic fighting victory!!!!! Well done to all.

That's exactly what we need to do - to beat those teams around us and show we can take the next step.

Now the most important thing for us to do is to follow this up. We can't beat a team like sydney at the scg and then lose to the kangaroos & fremantle.

Ripper catch by Eddie during the song just then. Saved Murph a ball in the face.

Still not that enamoured with Betts performance, but the 4 goals does help, and he did have a hand in another. Walker was more dangerous at ground level.

Setanta was good but he cannot time his jump to save himself, and he was no better than Hampson as a marking forward. Good to see his form is up and about though.

Joseph was next to useless despite his goal, as was White. There's a couple of changes right there. Just wish we could sit Setanta in defence.

What game were u watching.......

Was thinking the same thing. :?

Jimmae - I would have had White and Setanta in my best 7-8 players and I reckon AJ did OK. What about White and AJ did you think was so "useless"?

Bloody good win. That second half was good, hard footy at its best...very proud.

Clearly our best win since the first half of 2010. Challenge now is to keep this up.

Brett Rattens problems will come by way of poor performances in finals.

White was regularly out-positioned in the marking contest, and regularly trailing his opponent. Goodes was making him look silly early on and he had to be moved off him in favour of Gibbs.

At the moment it's a case of Jamison switching around as problems appear, with White being hidden for the most part, and the opposition is cottoning on.

Setanta was fantastic, but the conditions did suit him and when he did have to jump he was hopeless. Mumford had 43 hitouts FYI. The other half of my statement on him was wishing we could have him in defence in lieu of White, but he's shown much better nous as a CHF/FF.

AJ wasn't playing remotely smart football, and had 13 disposals with 6 clangers (zero frees against before anyone asks). Would have been a game high if Waite hadn't conceded 6 frees...

If you can name a worse player out there than either of AJ & White, I'm all ears. Fantastic win, but the room for improvement never ends. ;)

by the 2nd half I'd started calling Laidler Corey Enright

am so loving the sensational recruiting of Laids, Diggers Duigan, and curnow

Is this the biggest case of calling the WAAMBULANCE in recent times?

Quote:
THE AFL will launch an investigation into a controversial interchange infringement that cost Sydney a vital goal in its loss to Carlton at the SCG.

Swans coach John Longmire was furious after his side's 16-point defeat, claiming the interchange steward had made a major error and should have immediately reversed the decision.

The Blues had kicked three consecutive goals through Eddie Betts to take the lead late in the third quarter when the Swans were penalised for having 19 players on the field.

Adam Goodes was coming off the ground and Daniel Hannebery was attempting to come on.

Carlton were awarded a 50m penalty from which Setanta O'hAilpin kicked a fourth straight goal. The penalty enraged the Sydney bench, who were convinced they had not breached the rules.

Longmire said the Swans actually had five players off the field, with Jesse White out of view receiving treatment.

"We had plenty of players on the bench and not enough on the ground and I could see that from the coaches box 80 metres away," Longmire said.

The interchange steward was confident he had made the right call, but official statistics recorder Champion Data, who monitor rotations, is believed to be siding with the Swans.

OMG! An umpiring decision cost you a goal. Alert the @#$%&! National Guard!
