..if Pav spends alot of time in the middle we're in strife i reckon.. ..with Sandy hogging the hitouts and Pav too strong in the guts we'll be up against it.. ..will need to bring in Hammer to be able to compete with Sandy, or at least nullify him.. ..as for Pav in the middle, i'd maybe toy with the idea of matching Santy on him as a pure stopper.. ..just follow him and tackle every time he goes nears the ball..

If Pav wants to play in the guts, bring in Banno.

What I would like to see from the MC today

IN: Hampson Hadley
OUT: Cloke Bentley

B: Joseph Jamison Thornton
HB: Armfield Bower Scotland
C: Stevens Murphy Gibbs
HF: Houlihan Waite Wiggins
F: Betts Fevola Kreuzer

FOLL: Hampson Judd Hadley

IC: Setanta Carrazzo Simpson Russell

WE have 4 really good taggers in that team to rotate and stop a couple of the Freo guns: Jospeh, Armfield, Carrazzo and Russell.

Hadley and Carrazzo can be the big bodies to rotate out of the guts. I wouldn't mind seeing what Hadley can do on Pav in the middle to be quite honest (seems like a mismatch, but I have a hunch).

I was considering Austin for Wiggins because I thought Wiggins has been very ordinary for 3 weeks, with a view of playing Aussie as a tall in the forwardline, perhaps FP to get him in the swing of things, and give us some flexibility with Kreuzer and Waite.

With careful consideration I gave Wiggins the benefit of the doubt and believe he's just hit a short term flat spot and hope he'll come good this week. If Wiggins doesn't have a good game against Freo then I would suggest he too should feel the pressure to regain his spot from the Ants.

We've got to start mixing it up and focus on building the right team for the 2nd half of the season because I have no doubt that Yarran, Robinson, Garlett and Anderson will get a call up sooner or later, and later in the 2nd half of the season Warnock and Walker will be pressing their claim. Sure there'll be some injuries, but we can't bank on who at this stage (hopefully none).

We need to know who can play what roles within the first 15 rounds. We need names for positions and the next in line for those spots (depth players) and naturally they must be given a chance to prove their value, so spots are definetely up for grabs imo.

Warnock is a long term investment and will not be rushed, but mark my words, if he is managed with kid gloves as seems the case he will play a pivotal role for the first 22 in the 2nd half. Same with Walker.

We need to pick on form and ability.

The forwardline needs sorting. If it means an elusive smaller forwardline which works for us given the personnel, then so be it. We can't afoord passengers and all players must know that they must perform to stay in the team. Hence my ommission of Cloke.

So pressure is fringe players: on Joseph and Armfield to maintain their form, Russell, Hadley and Houlihan need to lift a bit and give 4 quarters of 100% effort and smarts, and Wiggler and Setanta to play at their best to compensate for some of their shorcomings.

Blues by 5 goals....or more.

If Pav plays in the middle, they'll have very limited potency up forward to kick goals. Win for us.
They need Pav up forward. Teams probably are of the opinion that stretch our defence and you come close to winning against us. They only have one Pav so that can't play him everywhere

Pretty negative, BKB. So, Pav will just sweep Juddy aside? About time we got a champion midfielder, hey.

No Crowley to haunt Stevo throw in Murph, Gibbs - maybe another Pav and they may get over the line. No Palmer, either. Coming off a derby with the longest flight in footy - talk about no excuses. It will be a disgrace if we lose to this mob.

Sandy is interesting. I remember reading something in past few years as to what % of his hit outs were actually "effective" - it was right down the bottom. We're very lucky to have an in-form Hammer to take him on, playing on his home patch, too. Like the omen.

We don't deserve to play finals if this mob beat us, pure and simple.

Ummmm,............ How the hell can we loose this game. In all seriousness.

Who the hell do they have for god sake? Is PAV gonna beat us on his own?

I'll be VERY dissapointed if we don't win this. We should demolish them by at least 10 goals.

If Pav plays in the middle I'd play Gibbs on him.

If Pav plays midfield and Tarrant plays on Fev then McPharlin will play FF as their main target. Also Ryan Murphy, Michael Johnson are chances to play down there.

I have been hearing a whisper that this might just be the right game to introduce him. The story goes that they used last week to freshen him up rather than the supposed hamstring tightness. The logic is to introduce him against a weaker opponent and a low attended game so as not to have him overawed. Don't be surprised if he is in the squad tonight. :smoking:

If we don't smash this useless team of Anchor biters then something is wrong.

Freo are shit. Pure and simple.

Blues will be switched on. Pumped. And firing.

Carlton by 68 points....

I'm planning on going to the game, coming down from Bris, but the thing is I'll probably be by myself as my queensland mates "aren't into gayfl"
So anyway I was wondering if there's any sort of Carlton group that meet up for a beer and watch the game? I know they have this sort of thing in SA and WA...

I'll be FURIOUS Ryan. If we don't win this game by 5+ we've gone nowhere.

We need to give our mids the ruck combo they need to battle the 4Qtrs. We need to eliminate those who can't use the ball or read the play.

A loss will make us a laughing stock.

Flying up tomorrow night and cannot wait!! Looking forward to watching a game at Carrara for the first time.

All you Queensland Blues must be pumped. I must say i don't envy you however not being able to see our beloved Blues live on a more regular basis.

Hopefully a good game and more importantly a good win for the Baggers.

Stand 2 row E. I hope that's under cover.

Was up at the GC a month ago and it rained the whole weekend. I don't want a repeat.
