Another Silvangi stuff up
Shit kick
Too slow
Craps himself
Not hard enough to be an inside mid
Cost us around pick 20 and pick 43
I think we got a pick 71 in the initial deal which we used on ODwyer so a complete stuff up

Now that Setters has gone to the enemy you will all agree with me he is crap
He will have his 25 possession games but will have little impact

As I said before he was a big kid at under 18 level who stopped growing and others caught up to him
Because he was a pick 5 has meant he has had 3 bites at the cherry
Another shocking list management decision from wonder boy

Hopefully this is all part of something bigger. Who needs points?

Geez, you'd hope not.
Crouch is injury prone and Hunter is a possible culture liability by the sounds of it.
I would've rather kept Setters TBH.

Yep , understand Sidy . I too would have kept Setters but now he has gone we need a ready made replacement and the two i have mentioned despite there faults are that . Beggars can't be choosers . Mitchell would be my pick but it seems he is headed to the Pies .

Yep, we have really made a bed for ourselves........again.
Hoping to be surprised by some bigger picture, genius plan, but not holding out much hope.

Opens up a spot on the list and salary dump.

I can't think of anything else.

Does getting a future 4th allow us to trade a future first now?

I think it's that we weren't going to use Pick 68, so swapped it for a future 4th. If Essendon* is shite then maybe that's pick 58-60, so a small gain.

Setterfield will be 25 at the start of next season. Why have a 25 year old running around in your VFL team when you can give an opportunity to an 18 year old?
He was good depth but he played his best footy as a defensive mid. Hewitt does it far better. He wanted out, we got about 120 points for him instead of him going in the PSD.

Good question.

I find it amusing how this time of the year the news media like The Age for example make a big deal out of a player like Setterfield going to Ess. Like seriously who gives a toss.

Enjoyed the above posts.

We found him a home.
We're a high class club who cares.

Problem that's been created (as Harry said on Dylan's show} we've now got a culture that makes you want to be a Carlton a person and player forever.

That’s it in a nutshell.

But why give up #68 as well? Surely a future 4th in a straight swap would have worked if the cheats rated him highly enough to offer him a better contract? If if we don’t intend to use the pick, why not hold onto it in case the points are useful when live trading starts on the night?

How many points did we actually gain considering we also gave them a pick?

We would have been better off delisting him before the trade period also.
The only possible reason I could see for this pick trade is we will need the points next season for any Father sons or we need the pick so we can trade other picks next season.
