Dew wasn't even interviewed yesterday so don't see why him announcing this tonight is news. He doesn't want the Adelaide job either.

Sounded like a guy who's not interested in moving.

Reads like when Ratten "informed" Port that he had withdrawn from their job when in fact it was the other way around.

Have no problem with it being announced this way though, for the reputations of all applicants.

Burns was one of my favourite players in the day, even though he played for Collingwood. Ultimate team player, great leadership, never gave up, tough and hard at the contest.

I know what you are saying....But, just because a position is available doesn't mean you have to go for it. Seriously, someone would really have to want this job because in all likelihood it could be their last chance as a coach after we are done with them. This is an evidence based comment.

A young guy of 35 thinking he wants to be a career coach taking on a basket case like us may mean that by the time he is 40 and been sakced all he has to look forward to is an assistant job or coaching a Tassie or SANFL team at the best.

Struggling to get my head around the prospect of a short-arse former school teacher who never played at the top level coaching my footy club ....
