All premiership players and time up at the Sydney club definitely up Synbad. Surely you would have known that before posting, surely?
Barry Hall started at another club as well ...... unlike Simpson who has bled for this club through the lean years and is a club man ..... Different circumstances but again, deep down you know this I'm sure.
By the way, your obsession with Lucas will come back to bite you. The kid can play and the word kid is crucial in this discussion!

I'm sure you know the reasons why he was "traded" because your such a novice with everything AFL you would know something as public as that......boy oh boy - wow wee.

Kreuzer is different, in that he's knocked back a better offer, stayed loyal and still has plenty of football left. Simpson is pretty much done.

If anything, our culture is shit because we haven't had our clean out of Perovics, Jezzas.

I expect Scotland to retire. Based on his interview with the club website the other day, I don't feel he sounded particularly optimistic about the prospect of going on next year. I think he's slowed down a bit too.

I think the real reason why Kruizer is different is the same reason why the pies found it hard to part ways with josh Fraser, he represented the clubs new beginning, the coming out of darkness from a period of pain. We ve all attached a great deal of hope onto him, it's hard to abandon that symbol of hope and it feels like a C$&@ act doing so, furthermore he's about as honest a bloke in footy that you might come across, but its not on footy value alone.

would hate to see some posters on here run a business if the need ever arose to make a tough or ruthless decision.

this isnt junior d grade footy where you keep all the mates together and the parents who are friendlys kids together so the club harmony is all good for the quiz nights and sausage sizzle fundraisers

this is big business AFL - a place where we have been mediocre for nearly 2 decades !!

trading players doesnt rip any culture out of the club - and if it does - is it the culture we want anyway

what exactly is being ripped out?

are simmo or krooz or murphs or whoevers mates gonna have a sulk if their mate gets traded?

if so we have more problems at the club and at the top than we first thought

I would be wrapt if they created a workable role that suited his strength, let him roam FFS, and keep knockers as your CS ruckman, the 2 can interchange, I can't see what the problem is in having both.

I'm no footy strategy guru, but when you have a bloke like Kruizer that can run all day even if its lumbering pace, surely there must be creative way of working it to your game plan as an advantage rather than trying to pigeon hole him into a role at the expense of someone like knockers who is a better ruckman.

Can't see any sane reason for trading Simpson. The guy has even learnt a new position for the better of the team, played well once adjusted to it and is certaintly not one the blokes taking a backward step when the pressure raises. Just something for you to grand stand about Sailor man and to be honest I've had enough of your sh1t again.....good night.

what we can get and cant get.... is nothing to do with the fabric of the footy club surrey...
its a hypothetical soeone threw up.... but if we got something done.... and i like simmo.. i even have him in my dream team...(just to prove it).... if it destroys what we have been building lately.... its probably a good thing.

and good night to you too.... go away.. think about your footy.. and see you back here tomorrow ..... ok???

I'm off but with one last thought for you then.
It's up to the coach and his merry men to change a culture, right? Trading players out is not the one & only solution.
Dropping the players to the VFL for a standard not followed is a good start. I have not seen MM do this yet! For mine this is setting the standard to be followed by all! Trading the right players in however does set a standard and also having the right leaders is critical. Again are our leaders the right men and if not, why then didn't MM change it?

In terms of salary, you're essentially trading Simmo for Mark LeCras.

"sane" indeed.
