Those Journey videos are cringeworthy.

Our team selections are shit

Our skills arent improving

Our game tactics are questionable

Simple things like having every player up in a marking contest with nobody staying down continues to happen all the time

Continue to see all players sucked in too deep at congestion so we get killed on the outside.

Its the same stuff over and over again

We aren't improving as a unit and any improvement we may see is due to an injection of better naturally talented players.

yeah its early days but i'm not liking what i'm seeing.

a lot of the decisions are perplexing and I agree with most of this gro but he's just starting out also so I think he needs time to hone his decision making and assertiveness

I agree that the same stuff repeated over and over gets a bit stale. I'd place it in the same category as closed training sessions. Some unfortunate club paranoia and delusion about giving up competitive advantage, by letting us know what's really going on.

However, I'm not convinced he's lost the players. On the few occasions we hear from the players, they sound pretty engaged to me.

Agree 100%.

His cliche and tough talk breaks me and those Journey videos are embarrassing.

I have never understood the blind faith people have in this guy.

I don't think he is going to be our next Premiership coach.

Just my opinion, time will tell I guess, seems to have plenty of fans.

No blind faith but also reckon we should cool our jets and give him a chance
Only coached for a season and one game
Over achieved in the first year in view of the list we had -remember at the start of last year we were not going to win a game

I think it was inevitable with an influx of younger players we might go backwards this year

At least in round one there were a lot of young players playing -agree white and Thomas aside

Also apart from Simpson Gibbs and Murphy our senior players are very average -a couple of the better leaders Jamison and walker also left last year

White Thomas Rowe wouldn't play for any other team so are hell bent on keeping spot in team and list so young guys don't learn from them

Remember Clarkson very early didn't set the world on fire with an average list
So patience not blind faith but let's be sensible about it

Clarkson point is what everyone needs to remember. It doesn't mean we should blindly have faith because Bolton coached under CLarkson, but Hawthorn looked awful in Clarkson's first couple of years, but they were building towards something.

Clarkson point was very much a subsidiary one but agree doesn't mean his acolyte will have anything like the success
Having said that year one was a tick and we have played one game for the year thus far I don't expect much success but didn't last year and was surprised by performance

Needs more time to assess whether he is good or not at least unlike Mick has tried to turn list over and bring in and play young players

Of course he needs time, but in the meantime don't dish up garbage pressers like todays. The remaining members deserve better.

I can understand his public stance given coaches generally support their players even if they are not playing well or they give them some preposterous story

Buckley did it with DE Gooey last week

Are any of us sure how Thomas is with the young players and also do we know what Bolts thinks privately about Thomas about

Really can't see a problem with today's presser. These things are just fluff for the plebs anyway and supporting your players in that environment is basic media management if you want to avoid a series of negative articles by the bottom feeders.

My theory on coaches is that we have no idea what the @#$%&! they're up to and that we should give them all the support they need for three years. After that it's open season. I've had concerns about all our recent coaching hires from Brittain onwards with the exception of Bolton who has so quickly changed the club's idea of itself that I'm an instant fan. That said, if there's no major progress after three years I'll be joining the throng.

It's the most important role in the club and rebooting a basket case is going to take time.

He's only just started. Give the guy a chance.

He's taken on the hardest job in the AFL. The place was/is still a rabble?

My thoughts are focused on the assistants. The new guys seem to be ok Amos, Clarke etc but it's the others that have been there a while that worry me.

In any case development should be the priority. More $$$ and then some needs to be channelled in this direction.

I gather then that your response is not a valid point.
