Im sick of all the armchair experts on here who rate players like Hartlett, Russel, Fisher etc. and talk them up and let their inspid perfromances go unnotices, one poster even called Hartlett our next CHF, lmao - whilst Fevs indiscretions are put under the microscope immediately and we call for his head.

Blueboy Dan you posted elsewhere that Fev kicking 5 should stop all the Fev haters.

No-one has an issue if Fev kicks 12 goals or 2 goals, its what he does when he doesn't have the ball that has people cracking it with him.

While you conveniently excuse everything that he does on the field in the pursuit of him kicking goals, some people don't.

So the offer/contract negotiations have been put off until seasons end.

Unless Fev comes out and says "give me the contract and I will sign it as it is and I don't care about the money/terms" then it looks like we have 6 weeks to see who else can play FF because IMO Fev won't be around next season in the navy blue.

Tell you what I am absolutely sick of, BD _ Fev crashing into opponents every time they get rid of the ball. Seems to be happening more often and it is just undisciplined b......t. I'd love to know how many free kicks, most downfield, this has cost us. It's gutless and stupid.

Every time he did it today Sydney were well and truly in the clear downfield for the next kick, and I reckon if I could see it on tv Fev could see it also. No harm in banging into a few if there's little consequence.

Watched Fev warm up in the rooms before the game and looked switched on. Thought he was on for a big day. Liked the forward set up with him at HF. The issue was that being a FF he quickly ran out of steam chasing etc and became frustrated. Then the old Fev returned. Was dragged in the second qtr for not chasing and dropping head. Made some late tackles and didn't chase hard after that.

Suggestions on bench that corkie wasn't bad at all but he was just knackered.

Only seemed happy when put back to FF.

I thought the same.

The thing is he's done it in the past when they haven't been clear downfield

With negotiations being put off until the end of the year, there is every chance Fev will be shopped around and should a suitable trade and compensation to us eventuate, the deal will be done, otherwise, he will sign on the dotted line.

A huge 6 weeks for Fev coming up - could make or break his time at the blues.

Yeah he generally does it after the opposition has clear ball so it has no effect on the play. Only very rarely has it hurt us. Good on him for showing some strength.

how is that a show of strength? all he's doing is knocking someone over as they are kicking the ball. :?

Don't think there's any make or break. Why would there be, he won't be far off 100 goals, maybe just short. It's an ordinary contract negotiation blown ridiculously out of proportion. Good luck replacing him with no other forward options. I'm sure Fish, Russell and Wiggo will hold the forward line up wonderfully. Any kid we pick up won't be ready for that task for a couple of years and really wouldn't need that pressure. Food for thought.

Who said he'd be shopped around. He could go into the PSD with a big price tag and get picked up. Unlikely but while it's there it's possible. In reality you surely wouldn't bet on him being anywhere but Carlton next year. He'll get a 3 year deal and we'll never have to hear "trade Fev" ever again. And thank goodness for that when the time comes.

I've always had this feeling that either the club or Fev want this to go on as long as possible or closer to trade week in October.

Who knows, maybe an offer to good to refuse may eventuate. Im sure clubs and managers are talking about potential moves

Im happy if Fev stays for a reasonable price (nothing over 600K a year) but Fev has the club on the back foot because he knows without him the club will have to take a few steps back

but also happy to move him on if we get an offer like 1 top 5 pick and another top 10 giving us 3 pics in the top 10

I reckon he'll be signed before R22.

I'm liking Swann more and more as time goes on. He's got some mongrel in him.

What website have you been reading where the performances of Hartlett, Russell, Fisher etc go unnoticed?

That was my assessment too. There wasnt one occasion where Sydney werent taking clear possession anyway. Either fev is very lucky or he's not as stupid as people think he is.

I must be a bit slow but how can we negotiate a trade if there is no contract in place and therefore no person to trade?

Am I alone in thinking that it is very strange for Swanny to publically declare that fev's contract will now be done at season's end?

If the deal is close surely it would be better to have it done and dusted?

If they are getting tired of the hoopla surrounding Fev, this is not a way to reduce the rumour mill, media speculation of Fev's future.

Anyone else feel his time at Carlton is coming to a end?

I agree, all this will do is cause more speculation and now 6 weeks of questions about Fev. The whole matter has been handled badly by both parties. Unless this a smokescreen and privately negotiations may take place and the deal done quietly. I hope this is the case as I am with you on this and think Fev will walk at the end of the season and put us back a few years, there is noone else to kick goals.
