We got the 2IC from the Cats just the other day.

Hope he helps.

I don't mind Shane O and we definitely need a goal kicking coach. Who better than Fev.

no such thing as a 2 IC not on a contract and can defect half way through a season.....not from a club like Geelong.

i reckon Arkemanis would be a great kicking coach especially for the midfielders.

The Carlton Football Club has strengthened its recruiting operations with the appointment of Luke Williams as Recruiting Manager.

Williams, the long-serving 2IC to Geelong’s Recruiting and List Manager Stephen Wells, joins Wayne Hughes and the recently-appointed Michael Jordan on a revamped recruiting line-up headed by National Recruiting Manager Shane Rogers.

He started a few weeks ago didn't he?

My point is few at the club do. There is no list manager at Carlton. I have faith many things will get better next year, but I'd like to see some risks. Playing it safe hasn't worked....Icke, McKay....haven't worked. I want to win a flag. At least put a guy like Jamo on the table. You never know what might come up.

He was there today...

Interestingly enough, SOS and Phil Scully sat front row of the Gardiner Stand and most of the other recruiting heads sat high in the Hawthorn or Heroes Stand. Was good to see SOS back there. Walks like he just had a vasectomy done, but still cuts a dashing figure.

Certainly there will be trades/delistings at the end of the year. I"d have thought that a club would aim to turn their list over by half a dozen minimum in order to improve, add class and invigorate each year.

I am of the belief however that some of our discards would at another better run club improve their footy significantly.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that GWS have a pick around 12 (as well as their rightful 1 and around 20). Why? Who knows? Maybe they got in a cereal box.

Surely, that ex-Port thug (can't remember his name atm ...... starts with a B) won't go on (just typed goon, Freudian slip).

Their other rucks are average or very young,

Warnock and our pick 2 (probably about 30) for 12. I'd offer Hampson and 30 but doubt it would get it done.

As a basis (possibly with some lower order adjustments), what do you think?

Nah. No chance.
IIRC they inquired about Warnock last year and we wanted too much. Warnock is a good rap ruckman, but bugger all else. A 1st round pick would need too see somebody very good at both.....

Alternatively Pick 1 for Kruizer, which they wouldn't do, or their pick 12 and 20 and a young player.

If the deal was skewed in our favour, then yes I'd put Jamo on the table. But I rate him, and it would need to be a fantastic deal... I wouldn't trade him for Daisy Thomas for example.

Good move in getting the 2ic from Geelong, just maybe Synbad he wants a top job and its a career move.

As Assistant coaches go how about Leigh Tudor and Cameron Ling.

Hughes should pack his bags now.

Sticks move in to a marketing role.

im not convinced hes 2ic at geelong for the reasons i shared.
and sticks should get far away from the club so people dont use him for their own agendas.

he needs a rest... tweed hat and a set of golf clubs in vanuatu would be good to hear about.

Do we have an updated list of player contracts? I have lost track of who is coming out of contract this year.

Assuming first round draft order is as follows:

1> GWS
2> Melbourne
3> Saints
4> Bulldogs
5> Lions
6> Port Adelaide
7> Gold Coast
8> Adelaide
9> WCE
10> North
11> GWS
12> Essendon*
13> Richmond
14> Carlton
15> Collingwood
16> Geelong
17> Sydney
18> Freo
19> Hawthorn
20> Gold Coast

First move would be to try and move our first rounder up to GWS' 11. Warnock or Hampson plus 14 for pick 11 and Golds. Pick 11 goes on Darcy Gardiner.

Clear out the dead wood. Luke Mitchell, Marcus Davies, Aaron Joseph and David Ellard are the first four delisted, Heath Scotland announces his retirement. Andrew Collins and Rhys O'Keeffe are advised they won't be offered new deals. Ed Curnow and Tom Bell are promoted to the senior list. Cachia and Dale are retained as second and third year rookies respectively. Currently have picks 11, 33 and 51 and 4 rookie spots.

Offer Simpson and Robbo to various clubs. Simpson goes to the Bulldogs for pick 58 to replace Cooney who ends up at....Richmond or something, Robbo ironically ends up at Bruisefree Melbourne with the compo pick they get for Sylvia (#38)

McCarthy and pick 51 gets swapped to Adelaide for McKernan and Luke Thompson. Picks 11, 33, 38, 58

Watson goes to the Dees for 56. Despite better efforts, no interest in Duigan who is then delisted. Picks 11, 33, 38, 56, 58, 69

Final bit of trade activity is Jeremy Laidler straight swap for Luke Tapscott, and pick 33 exchanged for Polec. Mark LeCras is announced as a free agent signing.

In:
Mark LeCras
Jared Polec
Luke Tapscott
Shaun McKernan
Luke Thompson
Picks 11, 38, 56, 58, 69

Out:
Robbie Warnock (GWS)
Kade Simpson (WB)
Mitch Robinson (Melb)
Heath Scotland (retired)
Matthew Watson (Melb)
Pat McCarthy (Crows)
Jeremy Laidler (Melb)
Nick Duigan (delisted)
Aaron Joseph (delisted)
David Ellard (delisted)
Luke Mitchell (delisted)
Marcus Davies (delisted)
