Here is my Weather Forcast:

McGovern: A Hammy in the first 15 minutes
Williams: Calf blown up at half time
Fantasia: Unsighted due to heavy Fog
SOS: Can't feel my hands, its freezing Cold ( not injury related lol )
Curnow: Damn its Dark, Can't see anyone in Blue, better not run
Motlop: Untouchable due to his Ethnic background- even if it rains
Essendon** Cheer Squad chanting: Its Raining Goals, hallelujah
Mckay: I am sorry, I can't keep playing, my Brother is not here :(

didn’t think the racist implication that Motlop gets games because he’s indiginous was worthy of TC. i criticises him regularly, as do many here.

allowing for that he’s young and for some reason seems to be a Voss/MC favorite and forgiven errors or given roles where he doesn’t need to get a lot of it…

…we don’t feel the need to be racist about it.

It's a good selection.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Harry pull out. Wet weather, cold. To use a Synbadism, he'll be back under the doona.
Correct on both counts

It's futile pining after bygone eras when we won flags by outspending the opposition and then using paper bags to try to circumvent salary caps. Let's not suck our own dicks and believe that some mystical "cultural" factors were the key to our success. What's done cannot be repeated (unless we penetrate the corrupt inner sanctum of the AFL that is predisposed to spreading the game at the expense of the traditional suburban Melbourne clubs, but if success is that important to you then may I recommend Paris Saint Germain or Manchester City? ). Being smarter than the rest is how we regain the summit, not waving our dicks around and telling everyone to go @#$%&! themselves. And I agree it is pretty sad that some would insinuate that domestic violence awareness campaign makes one soft or unmanly. We had a bit of fun with the orange sock statistical anomaly, but we smashed Geelong last time around so those who carry on about it are displaying questionable character.

Questionable character…….lol.
CFC is football club. Winning games is the industry it’s in. If it fails in that, it’s a FAILURE.
Everything else is puff smoke, sell that, when you have your core business RIGHT.

McKay out is really concerning for us.
I won’t expand on that comment, in case my character is questioned again. lol

The club does lots of off-field work; footy clinics, sponsorship appearances, hospital visits... but it's Carlton Respects that always draws the ire. Don't worry, I won't ask you to explain why, I'm sure you just fell into the trap without really thinking about it.

I can tell you I know they do and it’s great. I can also tell you last week was one of the worst experiences I have heard about. Thankfully, it was related to a club and player I despise and not us. A dying kid (who has now passed) was down at Collingwood for the day. All the players greeted him and made him feel special, every single one on the track, except for one. He decided he was too good to lower himself to talk to the family and child. I was disgusted, frustrated and embarrassed all in one, as that was the kids favourite. I think you can guess who the player was as he’s head is bigger than the whole AFL community and I hope someone smashes him soon!

So ignoring dying kids is the key to success then?

I’m being a smart ass I know…..but ffs, this is why the club needs to just start winning games because we’re all looking for reasons why we’re not.

Just start winning. Ffs.

I used to use the term skull flowered to say I was slaughtered on the drink. Either I got it wrong or the slang has changed somewhat.

@SurreyBlue I'm afraid I can't guess who the player was, and wouldn't want to cast aspersions by putting names out there... it may be Collingwood but they're still human, just about. Being in Sydney I don't get the players' antics shoved in my face and I definitely don't go looking for filth news, so I don't know which of their blokes are egomaniacs and which are sound.

@Trav it's a personal failing of mine that I can't call it out without being a knob about it but that's exactly it, it's irrelevant peripheral stuff that people use to push an agenda - possibly not their own - and I can't let it go even if I sometimes should!

Same. And slightly optimistic about Fantasia being back, might give our forward line some much needed leadership.

Will Gov really stay in the forward line as advertised? I suppose Carroll is listed at 6'3" but he really doesn't look it to me. Can Haynes keep up with Caddy?

I have seen the weather forecast and part of me is saying don't be stupid and stay home. The other part is saying I have paid lots of money for my membership and go. At this stage I am going but looking for an excuse not to.

The coaches have no hope.
In this thread he only plays favourites at the expense of youth. And when he does bring in a debutant, (which we have several times this year) we're wrong for not choosing a different one. The selection is absolutely spot on IMHO. O'Keefe has been the best tall the past few weeks. He is marking the footy beautifully, applies physical pressure that intimidates and he is a viable second ruck. Credit to the coaches for selecting him instead of taking the easier option and playing Young.
