Everyone has been talking up #17 this year.
Well we finally did it..............17 on the injury list that is.
Must be some kind of record.

By my reckoning we have 12-14 of our best 22 out this weekend. wow. How are we favourites?

Even if it was being played in Melbourne I'd have West Coast as favourite. The odds don't make a lot of sense.

Convinced we are cursed.
Yeah I feel for you guys.

I don’t not after what we had to endure yesterday lol

Do you know how many horror shows we’ve sat through over the past 24 years? While being in the minority of 40k (Subi) and 50k (Optus) of WCE and Freos finest.

Only WA people truly know how horrible it all is.

And we get to add another one to the list on Sunday. Can’t wait.

   That injury list is surreal.

Possession game. Hit up short takes. Find a man 35-45 out. No bombs. Strategic placement inside F50.

Get posession of the ball and a mark. The rest of the team bunch up super tight and link arms. They expand forming a circle leaving one player in the middle. The player with the mark chips it to the player in the circle. The circle moves towards goal protecting the ball carrier who must remember to bounce the ball. This is key. He can take a shot once in the goalsquare. A Variation like lining up 3 lines of six players and protect the ball in the middle and use a scrum to move the ball forward is also an option. Our strong but slow list will be the envy of the league.

Have to be some chance to see some debutants this week.

The backline is, more or less, intact if we move Williams & Cincotta back. We haven’t got the luxury of carrying a tagger - and the volume of shit coming their way calls for experience in the backline.

Backs: Weitering, Kemp, McGovern, Newman, Cowan, Williams, Cincotta.

Up front is a shambles. Four changes… Owies, Motlop & Elijah made it through. I’m not convinced that either Lemmey or Moir are ready, but I think they both come in. Lemmey as the CHF and Moir as Brad Johnson style deep forward.
I like Walsh across half forward as well, which will give us an extra at the stoppages.

Forwards: Walsh, Owies, Motlop, E.Hollands, Lemmey, Moir.

The midfield simply HAS to lift. Carroll comes in & with the inside mids going forward in stints, I like Lord’s chances as well.
I don’t necessarily like it, but I’d bring in Young as 2nd ruck. Ruck relief & loose between the arcs. That’s well within his wheelhouse.

Midfield: Pittonet, Cripps, Kennedy, Hewett, Acres, O.Hollands, Carroll, Lord, Young.

OUT: Curnow, McKay, Saad, Fogarty, Martin, Boyd
IN: Lemmey, Moir, Carroll, Young, Lord… Binns or Durdin as the sub

Wilson is unlucky.

Might wander down to the club and put my hand up for a run.

Can we field a side?

17 that can’t be picked.
3 that shouldn’t… Mirkov, Akuei, Monahan

25 to pick from.

Was thinking about bumping one of the forum matches threads to see if anyone's keen.

McKay...Lemmey
Curnow...Young
Saad....Binns
Boyd...Wilson
Martin...Carroll
Fogarty...Lord

Toss up between C.Durdin and Motlop. C.Durdin played his first game for a while and didnt set the world on fire. Could he do worse than the lazy Motlop?
Maybe he may perform for his friends and family in Perth?

Kemp Weitering Cowan
Newman Young Cincotta

Acres Cripps O.Hollands
Pittonet Walsh Hewett

E.Hollands, McGovern Williams
Owies Lemmey Kennedy

Wilson Carroll Binns Motlop
Lord

EMERG: Durdin Moir and that's all folks

...but we need to pick a squad of 26, let's celebrate Akuei's 50 VFL games by putting him in the squad.

OK, its only a name on an Emergency list. I can only come up with one genuine name as Emergency C.Durdin

Akuei, Moir, Mirkov come on down

Barrass will be back this week to join McGovern in the backline.

Losing both of our Coleman forwards means we replace them with some height, or play a midget forwardline.

I have a feeling Lemmey may be selected. I'm not convinced he's competitive enough for AFL but he's a big, and kicked a coupla goals in last 2 weeks..

Maybe Young to be a target up forward?

I feel we need a more natural forwards like Kennedy and McGovern, and send Young back to CHB on Darling.

Weiters is the obvious for Oscar. Who takes Waterman? Probably Kemp. :yikes:

I agree with the assesment that we can essentially field our regular defence and midfield. Whether we want to after their poor showing is another thing...

It almost becomes a philosophical question - do we continue to play as normal, just with different players filling the roles, or do we switch it up given our somewhat extraordinary circumstances?

I'm sure internally they're saying 'this is a great opportunity to prove yourself' and, 'all we have to do is win two games and then we re-set and have a crack at the finals, and if you play well this week and next, you'll get a chance'.

Looking at the list, there's only a couple of players with senior experience who are fit to come in: Carroll, Young, C. Durdin, possibly Fantasia.

So it's Cowan, Motlop, Hollands, Hollands, Williams, Kennedy, Cripps, McGovern, Acres, Fantasia, Carroll, Kemp, Walsh, Durdin, Weitering, Newman, Binns, Pitto, Hewitt, Lemmey, Young, Monahan, Wilson, Lord, Cincotta, Akuei, Moir, Owies, Mirkov... that's 29 players? And we have to take a playing 23 and a couple of travelling emergenices?

Cowan - Weitering - Newman
Cincotta - Kemp - McGovern
Acres - Cripps - O. Hollands
Walsh - Lemmey - E. Hollands
Owies - Young - Williams
Pitto - Kennedy - Hewett

Fantasia, Motlop, Carroll, Binns
sub: C. Durdin

emergencies: Lord, Wilson, Moir

staying at home: Mirkov, Akuei, Monahan

I like Lemmey as he can also go on ball to relieve Pittonet and with his mobility may well impact around the ground, so we can switch between tall and small fwd line. I wouldn't be surprised if they play McGovern forward too, I'd prefer him fwd than Young.

So, I guess that means that none of Lemmey, Moir nor Wilson will debut?

Personally, I’d get more from seeing Lemmey, Moir and Wilson play than rolling out guys we know.

Also, the 2s forward line would actually have some synergy.
