34 years ago today - two miracles happened- Carlton beat Geelong after being 41 points down at half time. I wasn’t there to see it - as my wife was a little busy that day giving birth to our first born daughter (Alexandra - after the great man of course)

I was there with my son and his Cats supporting mate . In the Robert Heatley which I might say was as quiet as I can remember . They chucked SOS to CHF and he went berserk . The Robert Heatley erupted to the point it shook so much I thought it would fall down ..................... congrats on the day Aggs , hope the young lady is doing you proud .

I was standing in front of the Heatley that day & the joint was indeed rocking. Was standing next to some random Hawthorn supporting Carlton hater who'd turned up just to give shit to us, & enjoyed watching him sink slowly into the ground as the second half went on.

Was at school in Geelong at the time which made the Monday just the best for me. Pretty much my favourite ever H&A game.

Sorry to hear about your mum, Danny.

One of the kids asked me to come to the game last minute, and I'm glad I did.
Sucked in to the old Geelong couple a couple of rows back who started by complaining about every umpiring decision, graduated to bagging out their own team, then spent the second half sat there in dead silence. Hope they live in Geelong and had to drive home wallowing in their misery.

A fantastic team performance, and I genuinely struggle to think of a top 5.

Condolences Dannyboy....ouzo raised!
It's a crap time, but this is life.. That's why we have to enjoy what we have....

And Friday was definitely one to enjoy!
At the game and agree with Peabody... Cowan was outstanding.
Not because of the goal (it was sweet) but the kid is a clamp!

19 years old and players running at him/passed him... AND BANG... really noticeable at the game.

And our play was waaay cleaner (Elijah helps that )... So was good to see so much pressure , but then still clean hands/feet on the getaway..

(surprised no one has mentioned Saad's pick up at full pace while being chased and delivery.... SUPERB)

Go Blues

So ta lads, club, all and sundry - it as a tonic for this old heart of mine.

So ferocious, so committed, so much belief. Voss has imprinted his DNA onto this side. Others may make the plans, work out the tactics etc, but its his DNA that is shining through!

Very sorry for your loss Danny.

Yep, Saad's one handed pick up at pace was a thing of beauty. Went over a treat in our lounge room as he's my wife's favourite player, there may be a chance of TDK replacing him in her affections the way he's going though. His build "he's well built isn't he", long blonde hair and good looks may have something to do with it too.

One example: post match interview Cinc and Charlie.
Charlie just pumping him up the whole time.

If only Sam could choose when he serves it. They're playing the drug cheats.

Sincere condolences Danny. That's a great innings.

At least 4 or 5 htb's missed by the umps there. I was getting annoyed at the number of times Geelong players took on the tackler by ducking the head, seems to be an effective way of conning them into thinking they didn't have prior... "oh he hasn't even had a chance to look around yet, it must have been immediate".

Not a dangerous tackle amongst them either, Dangerfield might want to have a watch to learn proper technique.

Condolences for your bereavement Dannyboy.
Losing my mother was a complex time, I hope you see the light through the experience.

I am deeply sorry for your loss dannyboy. I’m sure the fond memories, and in life, her Blueboys, bring you happiness and joy, and make you proud to have followed her path. You’re a great Carltonian dannyboy. Wishing you strength and healing from the Carlton renaissance, and I’m sure your mother is cheering from up there enjoying the ride with all of us. No doubt she was channeling her goodwill to the Carlton team on the weekend. She is lucky to have witnessed so many Premierships, and to end at unveiling of the resurgence of Carlton as a powerhouse, and we are all glad it ended that way for her. A flag would have been a great send off, but you can’t have everything.

Newman stiff. Shows how well rounded that performance was.
