Stronger midfield and game plan bedded down plus development in Jack, Charlie and Weitering should see a couple more wins

Funny.

I don't experience that problem.

Bluebaggers isn't just about 2016 or 2017, its about the past 150 yrs and the next 150 yrs.
I feel so lucky and privileged.

The first 5 games we have Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon*, Gold Coast and Port.

I truly believe we will win 4 of these. If that happens, the Blues will far exceed any of the so called experts expectations.

Call me an optimist or for that matter ... anything you want ... but I am pumped about this year.

Here we come! :fight:

Love your outlook BBW but if we win 3 of them I'll be happy.

Great to be positive and enthusiastic but realistically if we can win two I'd consider it a resonable start to the season.
Actually Richmond is the only one I'm comfotable of wining in that first tranch of games .

Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon**, Gold Coast and Port.

We will beat Richmond ... I just think we are better.

Melbourne is our bunny.

We will lose to the Bombers unfortunately ... too many good player coming back.

I don't rate Gold Coast ... but this could be a dodgy one ... it is in Melbourne and that helps.

We play well in SA ... and we have had a lot of success against Port when we all was against us.

4 out of 5 ... OH YEA!

It'll be tricky with Cripps underdone, SPS underdone, Phillips underdone and Murphy injured.
The midfield will be pretty second rate.

Not really.

Murphy we didn't have for the majority of last year, so in a way he's a new recruit for us.
Phillips didn't impress me all that much and to be honest, i think Kreuzer played better when he was lone-ruckman anyway
SPS is a first year recruit so not expecting anything from him at all.
Add in a fit Charlie Curnow who showed glimpses in a few games last year.

Cripps is the only one im worried about, but McKay said he's fine :garthp: - no, but all jokes aside i expect him to line up for round one anyway and slot in perfectly.

Sportsbet currently have Carlton at $1.87 for either Under 6.5 wins or Over 6.5 wins. FTR - Im on the Over 6.5 wins.

- We may have only won 7 games last year but we lost a couple by very small margins.
- Collingwood i feel are gonna drop off massivly
- Richmond too i feel have stagnated and no Deledio is gonna hurt them, plus the whole Dusty Martin thing playing on their minds. Coach is seriously under pressure too.
- Gold Coast are [REDACTED]. total Re-set back to the drawing board.
- Essendon* have 50% of their list coming back missing a whole season plus plenty of list cloggers and youngsters. All of them will feel the pain of a long season.
- Brisbane = Poo Poo!
- Port and North I can see slipping up a bit.

Melbourne i can really seeing improving and to be honest if they don't play finals this year it wil be a total dissapointment. Ditto StKilda who i think are soon gonna peak. Good young list on both of them.

But - if Carlton don't win 8+ games this year then it'll be a disappointing season for us.

$200 on Carlton for +6.5 wins @ $1.87!

Last reports had him not missing a single session.

Channel 10 had video of Murphy and Cripps playing/training strongly today.

Brad McEwan reported that Murphy was expected to play all pre-season games.

I get it - when Murphy is 'prefectly healthy' he tends to miss the training session the day before matchday.
Ergo, if there are reports of Murphy at every training session and primed for every pre-season match... he must obviously be injured!

I'm sorry, I posted that in a fit of sarcasm. We haven't had much out of him of late.
He's not injured.
Yet.

Fair comments but:
Collingwood will stay about where they were imo or maybe sneak up a little. They have a pretty good forward setup in the making and their midfield is all class if they can stay on the park.
Richmond will miss Delidio for sure. They did get some pretty good pickups, though. They will need to revamp their fwd line. If they play Reiwoldt close to goal where he is most effective he will kick plenty. Martin is a star. He won't have a bad season.
Gold Coast I agree with. They are in serious trouble BUT they have beaten us before when they had no right to. Shouldn't happen again.
Essendon* has been our bogey team for forty years. Last year proved it. They will have a good season this year unless their returning players have lost too much game fitness and awareness. I don't think so.
Brisbane beats us when they have no right to. I think Robbo, Zorko and Rockliff have our boys flummoxed. Just the same we should beat them twice on pure form and potential.
I agree with your comments on Melb and StK but I think we can beat Melbourne. We seem to be able to when perhaps we shouldn't.

So we should beat GCS (2) Collingwood (1) Brisbane (2) Maybe Richmond first up if they don't jump us. Essendon* I can't see it. We usually pull off a surprise against someone. Call it Melbourne. I also think North are due for a slide after being thereabouts for years with an ageing list. There's one, maybe two wins. We are due to beat Hawthorn one of these days.... I make it 6 wins out of that lot and two or three possibles for me. Maybe eight for the year.. Any more is a bonus.

The list changes suggest that we really should have a more competitive side this year.

The reserves should be much more competitive. If this is the case it will help the development of the younger recruits.

I'm hoping for ten wins and some obvious improvement. Expectations? Too used to being disappointed. Seven wins or less would not be a good outcome.

I like that the Club has shied away from making any arrogant claims about this year.

This is my favourite post of the year.

I have read it and re read it a few times now. Love it every time.

There is a lot of secrecy going on re the game plan, and plenty of noise that the coaches have finally a good grasp of it, along with the playing group.

Add plenty of pace and skills to the playing group was done to enable us to execute the game plan.

United = Success
