We'll do what we always do. Go in with too many talls and get done by talentless runners. Tigers skills are as bad as ours otherwise...

Ya think?? Looked to me like there wasn't much in it maybe a reprimand at worst. Reckon we'd be filthy if one of ours got rubbed out for that.

It is the Chook Lotto tribunal though.

I hope he gets rubbed out, but there was nothing in it. Not enough hurt factor.

1 week :gift: please

Yeah agree totally, unless we play SPS & Le Bois and have immediate impact , add Jaksch to Weitering and J.Silvagni Le Bois put Krueuzer there for protection and we have an intellegent , mobile forward line.
SPS and Pickett will do the rest , providing skillful , accurate ball.
Maybe too early , however Bolton has got to get the youngsters sparking it will have a knock on effect.
Perhaps second half of the season who knows but that's what I do .
Not expecting many wins early stages of the season.

Marchbank. Plowman. Buckley.
Simmo. Rowe. Docherty.
E.Curnow. Cripps. Kerridge.
C.Curnow. Casboult. Wright.
Weitering. Jaksch. Pickett.
Kreuzer. Murph. Gibbs.
White. Armfield. Palmer. Graham.

Emerg: Smedts. Thomas. McKay.

Bench doesn't really deserve a game but not many options.

Not the team I would like, but my predicted round 1 team based on JLT-

B: Simmo Rowe Plowman
HB: Docherty Marchbank White
C: E Curnow Cripps Smedts
HF: Kerridge Casboult Thomas
F: Wright Weitering Pickett

R: Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy

Inter: Armfield, C Curnow, Palmer, SOJ

Hopefully we'll see the following changes to the above side by round 23-
In: Byrne, Cunningham, KJ, SPS, Sumner
Out: White, Palmer/Kerridge, Rowe/Casboult, Armfield, Thomas.

Alright I'm gonna have a shot at picking a rd.1 side...
- post picking team reflection, I think this is the first time it's really hit me how incredible thin we are, I know as a team we're heading in the right direction but personally if we managed to snag 5 wins for the season I'd be pretty happy.

Plowman Rowe Macreadie

Simpson Marchbank Docherty

E.Curnow Cripps Kerridge

Thomas C.Curnow Wright

Pickett Casboult Weitering

R: Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy
I: Armfield, Palmer, White, A.Silvagni (is he allowed to play?)

E: Smedts, Jacksch, McKay

Nothing like having 2 key position defenders on the bench. Winning formula

This is what I think they'll pick for round one:

B Plowman A.Silvagni Smedts
Hb Simpson Marchbank Docherty
C. Cunningham Cripps Kerridge
Hf C.Curnow Casboult Wright
F J.Silvagni Weitering Pickett
R Kruezer Gibbs Murphy
Int E.Curnow Palmer Rowe

And one of the below (I'd take Armfield but going on everything to now, I bet they take Thomas)

Armfield White Thomas

B: Plowman Rowe Sumner
HB: Docherty Marchbank Simpson
C: Smedts Cripps C. Curnow
HF: Silvagni Casboult Wright
F: Pickett Weitering Jaksch
R: Kruezer Gibbs Murphy

Int: Armfield Cunningham E. Curnow Palmer
Emerg: Fisher Kerridge McKay Kerr Buckley

if Sumner is injured I would not hesitate to try Armfield or Fisher on the back pocket
a few interchangeable and taking injuries into consideration

Since Sumner and Jaksch are yet to play at senior level this year, that would be a surprise.

Well I'm over us continuely butchering the ball!
The 'protect the kids talk' - which I was all for - needs to be thrown out.
If we are going to lose, then I want to see time put into our future.......he's my preferred group.

Byrne Marchbank Plowman
Simpson Weitering Docherty
Cunningham Cripps Petrovski-Seton
C.Curnow McKay Pickett
Silvagni Jaksch Sumner
Kruezer Gibbs Murphy
Fischer Polson LeBois Macreade
Emerg from: Williamson Buckley Phillips Kerr Sheehan Graham Smedts

Injuried players obviously to be replaced in the 22 by emergency group.

2 to go from Fri night. Guessing one of Alex Silvagni & White, and Macreadie also. After that.....maybe Charlie Curnow if fit/McKay/Casboult competing for the last spot.

That's an encouraging team on paper, but probably more a round 1 2018 side. I doubt McKay will play more than a handful of games in 2017. He would get killed if we left him at CHF at the moment. And realistically, I doubt Fisher, Polson, Macreade & Williamson will get much more than a taste of senior footy this year. LeBois might surprise, but hard to call this early. We probably won't see Kerr until 2018, maybe Byrne too (for different reasons).

In 2017, I think the kids we will be trying to settle into regulars are Weitering, Marchbank, C Curnow, SOJ, Cunningham, Pickett & SPS. We need that group to avoid injury, get some continuity in their footy and reach 50 games as quickly as possible. I would have KJ in that group too, but I get the feeling he's not in the MC's future plans.

Mature age battlers like Rowe, White, Kerridge, Thomas, Palmer & Casboult will get games while the youngsters develop. I fear Buckley, E Curnow, Graham, Lamb, Plowman, Smedts & Sumner may be in that battlers category too (although I'm clinging to some hope they may be better than that - 2017 is a big year for that group).

yes it would
I think KJ has more to offer in the firsts than seconds and certainly could add to our overall structure so I would give him a good run at it at the top level
we are building, so build, give him some responsibility and try to build some leadership qualities in him if he doesn't show any signs drop him move on and that is the end of the story
our defence needs a small terrier type and I think sumner has those qualities so he could be a very good asset down back
