Bolton has ushered in Weitering, C Curnow, Plowman, Silvagni, Cuningham, Lamb and Sumner. Plus the older Phillips, Kerridge and Wright.

Why worry about what Malthouse presided over two years ago? We have moved on and now have another window of opportunity in the next three months to add even more.

Because it means we will most likely go further backwards before we move forward. You can't wipe out an entire years drafting and trading without it hurting.
Its akin to getting draft penalties

Malthouse was a disaster, no doubt about it. It's done. Over. Move on.

So we just excuse the multiple insipid performances in the back half of the year?

We can't hold them accountable to the publicly stated standards?

You can think what you want. What were your own expectations at the start of the year?

Are you going to cherry pick parts of the season?

These are not mutually exclusive. We can be pleased with the win/loss outcome for the seeason but still be displeased with the effort and pressure the Blues produced against Brisbane and Essendon***.

We can also be displeased with both.

Indeed

Im more concerned that Bolton couldn't get at least 1 of them up and going

I would expect Bolts would want to develop every player on the list who had the potential to be a useful senior player for the Carlton Football Club?

Maybe he (and the coaching staff) reckon they are not up to it.

Which potential superstar has been smashing down the selection door?

Correct. That's what he did.

Last year we had the worst coach with the worst game plan going around and a bunch of players who didn't believe.
How could you not improve.
My issue is that they haven't improved any where near enough .
And not one player brought to the club last season has made any sort of impact.
This will hurt us for the next 3-4 years.
Whiley Boakhurst Jackst Smith Tutt Dick Jones Gowers Foster DVR all busts
1/4 of the list no impact what so ever.
How can that be
It will hurt as did the 2004 crop .
You can't change 10 players and not have 1 improve and step up

You make a good point.

So far, all of them busts.

Fingers crossed Boeky comes good, and maybe just maybe Jaksch, but he's shown zilch.

Add Thomas to that list. Malthouse.

Whilst Thomas Jones Tutt Jaksch still on our list next year and Bettsy and Garlett kicking goals its hard to forget the Malthouse legacy.

I envied the way the Essendon* faithful relished every goal against us.
They understood the history and what is was all about and so did their players.
Pity ours didn't.

Rocco that was what was so disappointing about Saturday - beautiful day a plethora of young families and young kids wearing their Carlton jumpers around me and we missed a big opportunity to have another win but most importantly send them off into the pre-season with real hope

On the back of that performance against Essendon* what hope did it provide to any supporters let alone the young supporters who this club desperately needs to nurture build up and retain

We are behind because of past performances the eight ball on this and more particularly the membership engagement piece and must have a team that gives it all in every game - demonstrably against 17 th placed Brisbane and 18 th placed Essendon* WE DID NOT - given our skill base we wont win all the time but must give our all every week - 50,000 members not only deserve this they should be able to expect it

Club escaped opprobrium on the weekend because of hopeless performances by Melbourne and Richmond - we were in my view arguably worse

no point sugar coating it the last 11 weeks were terrible - given the win up to round 11 - coaches players admin must all take responsibility for it

From board all the way down to a fair chunk of the supporter base, we have become a sterile club.

Not quite. We had 6-out-of-7 wins and 10-out-of-11 losses, but in terms of streaks we had four wins and nine losses.

Conversely, North Melbourne had a 9-win steak and a 5-loss streak.

Not sure if either are firsts, but you'd imagine both are rare feats.

That's funny.

I don't know if anyone has ever met Gibson in person but he is the most cocky and disrespectful %#$^ you will find.

Not important - a Hawthorn or Essendon* jumper makes you a good bloke.

Led by Hodge, Hawthorn are the dirtiest team on the planet and yet week in week out they get away with it. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised by who they are coached by.
