Jimmae - I actually don't mind your POV - normally.
However, on this occasion you are being pretty random re Phillips. He and Kruezer worked well together in our win against the bombers and freo. Phillips was on the 'up'.

So help me with your 'that has been proven without a shadow of doubt'. Phillips adds value - at least that's what the MC believe.

Time on ground percentage average for all players bar first ruck and second ruck (i.e. the other 20 players):

With Phillips:

83.25%
82.95%
82.65%
82.5% (Murphy injured early in 3rd)
83.8%
83.4% (Weitering injured early in 2nd)

Without Phillips:
81.3%
81.45% (Kreuzer and Levi injured)
82.55% (Kreuzer and Levi out)
82.3% (Sumner and Murphy injured for almost the entire game)

So without Phillips (though the data is wildly skewed in Phillips favour), it looks like at least 2% game time for every other non-ruck player on the ground.

That works out to be about 2.5 minutes, with the midfielders getting the lions share. 4 or 5 minutes extra on the bench for a midfielder basically gives them another 20 minutes of peak performance per game.

I just want 2 big wins before the bye.
Then we can have a well deserved rest and reset for the 2nd half of 2016.

Wouldn't mind seeing Cripps win a few Brownlow votes and that Gibbs continues his heavy polling from our victories.

Without injuries, Jaksch for Gorrringe as Casboult will be good to ruck next week.

Of course injuries might add a couple more changes. Can Murphy wear his helmet on his ankle?

Why would you drop Gorringe, from my view of the game he pulled his weight, why wouldn't you give him a decent run in the seniors and allow him a chance to settle in

From what I saw he looks like a lot more VFL time needed.. strength conditioning..skills.. the lot need working on. I know others disagree but I want to see Jaksch in.

Who is jaksch?

Mathieson is selwood on drugs with the body lowering for frees. I think he avgs 5+ free kicks per game for lowering his body on contact. Dont get upset when it happens

Or just really hurt him. Make every tackle a massive hit. If he ducks into it, his day ends early.

No Lester, Beams, Gardiner or Andrews for the Lions this week

Aside from Gallucci, Boekhorst and whoever winds up injured from the weekend's match, we've got a clean bill of health for our mids and smalls, so there's more than just Tutt to pick from.

We might opt for Buckley, Graham, DVR, Smith or Cuningham if Murphy or some of the forwards don't come up.

We shouldn't really have any fear with DVR & Cuningham, what with their excellent foot skills.

Jason Tutt

Average stats: 27.8 disposals, 5.7 marks, 3.3 clearances, 4 inside 50s, 0.7 goals per game

Dillon Viojo-Rainbow

Average stats: 16 disposals (7.3 contested), 3.7 marks, 1.9 clearances, 2 tackles

David Cuningham

Average stats: 13.3 disposals (6.8 contested), 2 clearances, 2 tackles, 2 inside 50s

Best game: Round 1 vs. Footscray - 21 disposals (12 contested), 3 clearances, 2 inside 50s

From the coach: He’s been in and out of the team through body management but he’s shown some encouraging signs as a midfielder: we think if he can get consistent playing time, he’ll improve form, elevate performance and become a really consistent VFL player this year.

DVR and Cunnigham are nowhere near it

Tutt is the best like for like unless you want to completely or partly restructure. No need to do that when you can bring in Tutt

Surely Graham is the obvious replacement for Murphy?

Tutt gets a ridiculous amount of handball receives, averages something like 14 a game. His kicking is reportedly as bad as ever too.

If it's for a forward, you look at Buckley, Cuningham and Smith; for a midfielder, you look at Graham before Tutt; off HB or the wing, DVR before him.

If you get the ball to Tutt 10 times, he'll give you 4 good kicks, 2 effective kicks and some turnovers. DVR, Graham and Cuningham will nail 8 out of 10.

There's also the option of SOS.

So it appears Josh doesn't really agree with you. Maybe he knows

From the coach: It’s been a really good month from ‘Tutty’. His run is a great strength but he has also improved on areas of his game that needed addressing, which is a real credit to him. His recent performances have seen him strike a good balance between inside and outside ball, he’s been a goalkicker for us and he’s putting together some really good form

Mind you I would take Graham in a flash as well, although he rarely goes back hard enough for mine

We won't need Graham to if Buckley comes in as well.

Tutt's had no choice other than to win the footy inside at times, and his cheeky outside goals that he'd never get at AFL level have been something we traded for him to try and bring in. That said, there was one goal out of his three from the last game that did impress.

But as for Fraser's comments, you can only read so much into it because it's very obvious he's sugar coating. Some of his comments are a bit odd, where he's talking about player performances in terms of sample size and statistical consistency, almost like he's been sat down by SOS and had his eyes glued to a few spreadsheets until players start nailing some positional requirements.

Anyway, on the Brissy side of things (and following on from Effes earlier comments), you've got Jansen, Green, Dawson, Hipwood, Claye Beams and Rockliff as selection chances this week.

Nah. Don't think its that complicated.

Josh tells it like he sees it in my view.

If we was looking at stats that indicate players buy in to the way Bolts wants them to play then JOSH, Knock yourself out

So for mine

Tutt or Graham. Still not sold on Buckley. But certainly not DVR, Cunningham or Smith. That would be just dumb. Have done SWFA
