Watching AFL 360 tonight reminded me of the player who has the best celebration of a goal in the AFL and that is Eddie Betts. He snaps an impossible banana off the non-preferred against the boundary line with an opposition player up his clacker, the ball goes sailing through the middle of the goals and Eddie turns to the crowd with arms out saying "did you see that?" and then he points to himself saying "it was me - I kicked that". What a champion. He's heading straight to an All Australian jumper this year. Hopefully he doesn't kick any against us and rub in the fact that we screwed up the trade.

Compare that to the arrogant divisive player who plays for Sydney.

Funny how no where near as much noise was made about Eddie last year when he wasn't in such good form for the Crows.
Seriously, people still going on about him are like those sad, pathetic saps who a year and a half later, still cry over an ex partner whose run off with someone else.

It seems however that getting rid of Eddie while acquiring Daisy is one of a number of recent list decisions which have backfired. Question is if the buck stops with the Vet regarding those. Loved him as a player and seems to be a good guy, but has he been effective as GM Football?

I don't have an issue not putting Eddie on big money but getting Thomas was dumb (it also gave Collingwood Pick 10). For Eddie we could of got a pick in the 20s which could of been used on players such as McStay Taylor (NAB Rising Star) Hartung or Dumont. Once again another chance blown to get a talented kid into the club.
