I hope Broekhurst is given a block of games and this one is 2nd of a block.
Last game he looked quick, balanced and not a bad kick.
We need to build our outside game.
Pies are quick.
..it's not about leg speed, the play on and play fierce direct footy, they kick backwards the least, but they are a poor kicking side and can be beaten with strong 4 Q pressure..
No need to be so dismissive.
I think you should have said " its not
only about leg speed....".
No leg speed then we have snails.
In that case that we have no one running past to take the quick handball (Note "quick"); and, we have no one running ahead to make posittion and stop them from setting up.
I agree it seems that fast play on footy is the way to go. Similar to Rattens game plan.
Im just having a good look at the Pied Dons game and iit seems that the Pies set up a zone aalmost like the cluster from 2008, force the error/ nullify the ball and then their extensive mosquito fleet swoops.
whilst they dont go back as much as the dons, or what we diid prior to half time last week and for the previous 3 rouunds, they do go back a bit, and switch play, similar to hat we do, but quicker.
Have to make sure Pendles doesnt sneak forward as easily as he did against Dons, same with swan. They are dangrous when forward.
If Swan plays I'd put someone reallly fast on him to test his ankle, and create the extra man if Swan isnt 100% and needled up.
Fast movement of the ball and use of leg speed to space presenting the next option is the way forrward.
We have the speed to give them a fright if they dont think we use speed as a weapon, with Walker Judd Murphy Buckley Armfield Boekhurst Simpson and Docherty all playing to their best.
I think we can win this. Just have to play 4Q's with Kreuzer, Yarran, Thomas and Byrne missing fromour best.
Got my seat booked at the Risning Sun in Palm Cove.. Its going to be a beauty!!!!!
