+1.

U can add warnock, and even walker in the backline. Ther were much less turnovers off the backline and much less outmarking.

I flicked it on and the crown was booing Majak Daw when he took possession?

What was the deal with that?

I'm hoping he hit someone during the games and that wasn't anything else?

Daw was being booed because he cleaned up Hendo after he had taken a mark. Should have been 50, he still kicked the goal though.

Would've been a pretty soft 50.

As much as I enjoyed last night's game, if you'd offered me before the match a choice between winning and no injuries to Menzel & Everitt, I would have taken no injuries.

Well done to MM and the guys for a good win, but I really really hope it's not serious for Menzel & Everitt. Menzel particularly. We're due for some luck with injury, so fingers crossed...

Wood got smashed in the ruck.

His around the ground work was slightly better than Warnock. Inside work the same if not worse.

Even result at best. That is being generous.

Mate, he took 3 contested marks and kicked a goal in one game. It takes half a season for knockers to do that. I am not saying he is a star, but he eclipsed warnock

Just reminiscing about the game, and i cant remember any missed tackles - there must have been some, but jeez, we tackled well.

Best win of the year. Despite others assessments i still feel our list is a 7-10quality not 14-16. If we'd beaten sides around us we'd be where north are. Rowe very good again. Gibbs over the last ten weeks is at the level of intensity we have all been waiting for and should win the b&f easily. Hendo, waite best games of the year, pity waite is son inconsistent. White gives us that bit of mongrel. Wood got done in the hitouts but was good around the ground. Hope judd plays next year. Couldn't believe the space, how have north beaten topsides? They are no better than us and don't have more talent. Back to the real world in two weeks. I wonder if the coach concentrating on the team rather than the tv during the game meant we were a bit more focussed after half time than last week.

Agree, two players we need moving forward. Also, a win is nice but in the bigger picture I'm not sure it does anything for us. The problems that were there before the game are still there now and it is a long road ahead. I can't get excited about beating North. They were pathetic.

The positives for the future are Gibbs improvement, Yarran as well, Graham showing a bit, Henderson, Rowe in defence, Docherty & White. Something to build on with Cripps & Buckley. Judd should play in 2015.

I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable in MLG as President. Certainly saying the right things.

I'm reserving judgement on MLG, but it's hard to disagree with the rest of your post Psych.

As much as I enjoyed the game last night, I woke up feeling a bit like we lost. And if Menzel is out for a year, I guess we did...

But you're right, there are a number of positives we can focus on.

I was just saying to my Dad if we'd beaten Brisbane, Melbourne, GWS and Richmond like we should, and then been able to win another 1-2 from games we were competitive in against Port, Geelong, Hawthorn and Collingwood it wouldn't appear so bad.

A record like that may flatter us, and we're not where we should be...but we're also not as bad as some think we are.

agree that we have been a little unlucky this year

however, we have too many gaps and not enough quality on our list, which will take us a while to rectify

I don't want to simply be competitive

need to build a team from the ground up that will compete for premierships

skirting around the fringes of the eight for years is not what we are seeking

But i don't quite see how we can play Hendo / Waite and Levi in the same team?

Hendo is a tough one. Brilliant up forward but so important down back. Why can't he be a twin?

Ryan, I couldn't see a problem last night all 3 took their turn at being the hit up player up the ground and it appeared to me that Levi's job last night was to be a bit of a decoy up forward and back wood up in the ruck, we were able to split the North defence and give one on one opportunities to our forwards because the defenders had to be real careful about dropping off their man as all three are good strong marks, I thought it worked well and Levi's stats don't reflect the job that Mick asked him to do last night.
