Oh by the way this is real Brad Moran stuff.

You dont think other clubs have these awards
Well let me tell you...Casboult was so excellent he shared the Stkilda version with White... co Brad Moraners.... Everritt had a zillion marks too and did a PB.. so it was a thricendom

Thats how well the Saints were going back there......

and???

because you havent seen anyone take a mark for us .. that gets u excited????

how does his marking impact on the scoreboard and translate into helping us win on a weekly basis?

he is what is known as a 'deflator'

massive shortcomings like so many others on our list
the guy who can run but cant tackle
the guy who can tackle but cant kick
the guy that can kick but cant find the ball
he guy that can find the ball but cant use it to advantage
THE GUY THAT CAN TAKE A MARK BUT CANT KICK

remember... StKilda is your yardstick.

Casboult needs to play with impact all weeks
at the moment he is a one in five...

4 good ones for a season...

That doesnt help us.... sorry...

dane were not all taking euphoric narcotics to be upbeat and ecstatic about everything....
some of us do see the reality of this thing...

this place does need a sancho panza so it would stop drinking the carlton bathwater of mediocrity

from now on ...ill tell you when to get excited ....ok?

not yet...

mediocrity means people will fall in love with the most miniscule of things...

its a by product of what we have become...

Casboult improving (turning from a 3 out of ten to a 5 out of ten in 6 years) isnt what its about... Casboult becoming a finals grade AFL footballer is.

hes miles off the pace as we are...and because our list is littered with these types of players were destined to stay a crap side.

Its actually his 5th year, not 6th. But hey, who cares about those irrelevant facts.

I'm with you on this one, for a 29 year old in to his 9th season he just isn't offering enough. The saints looked deplorable last week, even Simon White kicked 4 goals, which is saying something. When's he going to kick a bag of 4 against a decent team like Hawthorn? Until then I have reservations.

I agree with what you say, but how can one maintain hope when hope is given to clubs by the AFL through certain favourable deals. Carlton never seems to be one of the clubs that gets the favourable deals. North- yes, Hawthorn - yes, Port- yes, Essendon* - yes, but not Carlton.

North Melbourne is a case in point. How is Carlton supposed to take on a club that gets $3 million per year of AFL assistance- something that Carlton doesn't get. How much money does the AFL give directly to North that other clubs don't get via their Hobart deal. The financial side of it is largely hidden, but this is an indication below:

"In 2011, the AFL offered Hawthorn $7.5 million to vacate Tasmania in favour of North, a move controversially rejected by then president Jeff Kennett." -

So basically the AFL had helped to prop up Hawthorn via giving them Waverley (which was an AFL asset not a Hawthorn asset) basically for free..and now they are going to do the same type of thing with North via a Tasmanian deal.

When Carlton plays North I want a level playing field - not to play a team that the AFL is assisting more than Carlton. To then demand that Carlton puts in MORE money to give to North Melbourne for next year is quite frankly the last straw.

^^this is an excellent point.

I would also like to know the details of other clubs the AFL is propping up.

Does it matter? The competition has been effed for the next 8 years due to the concessions given to the expansion teams.

I would love to see an uprising of the Victorian clubs. The big 5 plus WCE and ADEL keep the rest afloat

People here like to hang rookie upgrades but forget about the big earners... He and Thomas were nowhere... against the witches hats

I would have thought the padding on Gibbsy's leg would have told people something.
