Rogers hasnt left.

No signs that he is....except for Caro's article....and TC goes into melt down.

I'm glad MLG approached Wright, who decided the offer was too good to refuse AND Hawks wouldnt release him.
Only Psych has made suggestions on who we might want on board for the recruitment group...to add value ofcourse.

Caro continues to look like a right royal anti Carlton bitch....at this stage.

Speaking of f a r k all... hows Essendon** getting off going?

Yeah, I thought it was a "done deal" with the AFL and ASADA?

Caro is a tool that's sometimes used by some to undermine and weaken an opponent...

I'd rather that MLG was actively having a go at getting the best - surely the Pratt faction can respect that?

Much better than Sticks sitting on his arse for years accepting the crap that Hughes served up, albeit under the shambolic list management arrangement of Ratts fighting for his job while Swanny kept sticking his nose in and Fev kept holding everyone's plans to ransom with his constant provocative behaviour.

The only thing I take out of this incident is that Mark has a plan of how he wants things to operate,
he is not content to accept the status quo,
he wants an actual LIST MANAGER rather than a bunch of underperforming staff all muddling a list management strategy as they go.

He wasn't successful, his tactics were off, and he's got a bit of egg on his face.
but I like his philosophy much more than the old Sticks "she'll be right, just stick fat, sit on the fence, give it to Judd" stagnation.

If Shane is his man, then I'm sure Mark's capable of smoothing over any cracks in the relationship.

I'm sick of the sooky culture of underperforming at the Dick Pratt Park and Pokie Palace.
Vulture journos know we are easy fodder for pot stirring.

Mark wants this to stop - but he needs to make sure he can achieve his aims without creating more negative headlines.

That's pretty funny

As noted by a couple of people in the comments section Hawthorn haven't been averse to poaching staff themselves.

Important line. After all the hoo-ha Shane gets the security and station he craves.

Given MM has stated the most important person at any club is the recruiting boss, it would appear MM is happy with how things have gone.

Hope MM has made the right call here.

A club that has a poor list and is really struggling so it signs its Recruiting Manager to a three year deal.

Please explain the F....N logic in that.

Another absolutely stupid and unnecessary long term deal done by McKay.

We try and look for hope and some semblance of logic and we do this. Makes absolutely NO sense at all. FFS! :banghead:

Why is Rogers getting the blame for Hughes' incompetence?

Well, why else does Rogers get blamed for the current state of our list?

From the article which announced his re-signing. Which clearly indicates we value Rogers' work from the last 2 years BUT at the same time acknowledge there is further improvement required.

Your post above suggests Rogers' has been a disaster and should be shipped off when his contract expires (I'd assume at the end of this year if he is re-signing now).
