The saddest thing is that I'm not even angry about losing to Melbourne because I fully expected it. One thing that is almost guaranteed is that this team will go to water when they're supposed to be making a stand.

What I don't understand is the number of players who are playing worse than last year:
Waite, Garlett, Robbo, Tuohy, Walker, Bell, McLean, McInnes, Murphy, Carrazzo, Gibbs...
And players not really making any ground:
McInnes, Watson, Rowe, Casbolt, White, Boots, Yarran, Warnock
Apart from Simmo and Henderson and maybe Jammo, the only players who appear to be working to their capacity are Curnow and Ellard, and their capacity isn't great to start with...
This is not just a recruiting issue...Fitness? Confidence? game plan?

Bruce Mathieson's question is a worthwhile one. How many of our blokes would get a game at Hawthorn? Henderson is the only answer I reckon.

But let's take Bruce's question to the next level. How many of our players would improve in the Hawthorn system? Strong board, winning culture, innovative coaching, membership-based focus... well I reckon then it would be a Melbourne cup sized field.

So much to improve on both on and off field before we start manufacturing players who would be capable of stepping into the Hawthorn side.
