We are simply average
too many average footballers

don't forget we only got rid of Bower, Thornton and Russell from last years list

many more have to go

poor recruiting

I love how some supporters have been sucked into believing that MM would turn us around

He is a very good coach(better than Rats) but put simply this club's decision making over the last 15 years is going to cost us big time for some time to come

There ain't much in the twos

I would be getting as many games into Graham and Menzel and Laidler needs to play
McInnes is a good player. Don't mind Ellard either That's it

We need another key defender to release Hendo to a forward roll.

trouble is our depth is shit and that's with few injuries

these players should be let go
Lucas
Watson
Warnock
Rowe
Hampson
McCarthy
Mitchell
Scotland
Davies
Duigan
White
Joseph

that's 12 players who simply are not up to AFL standard. Scotland has been great but fathertime is fast approaching
then you have the guys who are too inconsistent
or are just ok
Gibbs
Kreuzer
Robinson
Yarran
Betts
Waite
Gartlett
Tuohy

Gibbs is better this year but still hangs out the back of packs too much and gets rid of the ball way too quickly for my liking
In a good side he would be a very good player but with us he is constantly exposed.
As a number one pick as a mid you should expect more from him . Hold the ball for just that fraction more stand up in the tackle and create something out of nothing in the congestion. Gibbs doesn't do this . He gets the ball and just gets rid of it.
To his credit he has improved. last year he went MIA completely. But if he is in our best 6 players we are in trouble

Kreuzer simply is a plodder. As a ruckman he isn't up to it. In wet conditions time and time again Pike got the front spot.
We either trade him or play him as a mid. I don't believe that Hampson or Warnock are up to it so find someone like a Giles in the draft for next year.

The rest are untried or worth keeping but our not stars and Judd will probably retire in 2014
Carrazzo is nearing the end as well

What Mick needs do is get rid of those 12 I mentioned and pray that he and the recruiting staff make the right calls for the years to come.

Put simply we aint good enough
and need to start over again and forget this notion that we have a quality list
face it we don't and if we are to climb back into the top 4 we need to have some short term pain with no stupid trades like the Warnock or Judd trades.
we simply must start making the correct decisions

Conditions didn't suit last night, but the three amigos never works against strong bodied and classy opposition. They're flat track bullies against the lower and middle placed sides. Until we have the depth to displace two of them we are going nowhere.

TOTALLY AGREE WE HAVE ABOUT THREE PLAYERS THE REST ARE CRAP VFL PLAYERS AT BEST

I only saw the second half. Thought Kreuzer was good.

Sounds like the game was shot at qtr time, can't give up a 5 goal lead in those conditions. Game over.

Pretty much. Even when we were dominating inside 50's and the clearances it always felt like Sydney had enough and a quick break or bit of luck and there it went up the other end.

They were harder, cleaner, more even, had fewer ( if any) passengers and ultimately our "just bomb it long" game plan after 1/2 time didn't work.

Didn't mind Kreuzer's game to be honest but meh who really cares, we lost, it was horrible to watch, the drug cheats won and it's now only Saturday morning.

What a shit start to a weekend.

Viva le tour.

Wow!

A four goal missed shepherd!

Is taking the piss the only way you contribute to this site????

Beatle is talking about how one act can change momentum

Like the failed dropping the ball decision in the Hawks game

But no you just sit back and take pot shots at posters who aren't in the TC Elite, it's what you're good at GWS

Too many players either have skill but no balls or balls but no skill

It's the skill and pace squad Ratten used to hit a ceiling of 5th

Ratten did well with the list but that's as far as it could go

Malthouse would be realizing this now

I think wet weather games exposes lists for what they are. Not a lot of our players have instant AND talent

I'm more convinced now than ever a semi rebuild is needed

My house did this at Coll. telling statement post game about Swans midfield batting deeper. It's clear as day

You're funny even though you try very hard not to be.

Is writing inane drivel the only way you can contribute to this website?

They had Tippett who has benefited enormously from 11 weeks off and is a monster.
We had Waite and Casboult.
Tippet beat both of them together, easily. So much more influential.
There's the game right there.
Our forwardline was absolutely useless tonight!!!

agree

this team lacks balance

although for me the biggest issue has been the lack of belief

the best thing Mick can instil in this club is a winning culture

a decade of misery has had a profound effect on the club

One thing about wet weather footy that should be noted

The torpedo when done properly is a very effective kick in those conditions because it loses little distance and if it bounces can travel 90 metres. Drop punts lose distance in the wet far more. In the first quarter how many times were we 50 55metres out and used drop punts that landed 15 metres and were easily swept away by the Swans defenders.

The game has become so sanitised that the torp is seen as too risky to use. If our players practiced it at training we could have had players making the distance from the 50 m ark.
