Sydney will have 8 players from the premeirship team missing;

Goodes, LRT, Shaw, Mattner, Reid, Johnson, Mumford and Jetta.

Any chance of any of these players returning this week ?

That's nothing. We have 22 players from the premiership team missing!!!

Actually we're only missing 21.......

Rain really pounded the south coast of Sydney and the prevailing SE winds took the bad bad weather around the city to the Blue mountains ...ie away from Sydney.

The cold was like nothing else....14 degrees max...FMD.

Sydney copped rain but not floods. RThe winds stopped around 4am and the drizzle stopped
around 10 am. Sun came out and back to 18 degrees.

Can't see rain ahead for Thursday or Friday and Sat-Mon should be fine and sunny.

Should be as I expected a dry night for this Friday...and back to normal.

To be honest Sydney have a heap of their good players missing or at least under done, if we can't beat them on Friday it will further show we are we'll behind the top sides.
I think we'll put up another good showing but still unsure if we will get across the line.
If the blues don't get some reward for their efforts shortly i fear we could fall away sharply in the following weeks.
We have been so close so many times to taking a good scalp.
Here's hoping this is our week.
I think we are due a change in fortune!

When Robert Walls is in the media and sings our praises we should worry.
When Robbo on 360 states that he believes Swans win is a sure thing, I wouldn't worry.

He also mentioned that MM will be very grumoy after the game, and if Port win, Carlton will be 2 games out of the 8, and MM will be even more grumpy.

I'm starting to feel confident. Probably go to open session at SCG at 5.30.
Wont be much but I want to see if the boys sound and look ready: Voice, enthusiasm, aggression would be a nice mix to take into the game.

Gotta win.

Jetta was training today but theres been no indication he'd be selected.
Never know.

Hanneberry was interviewed and he sounded embarrassed at being tagged out of the game.
Redemption is what he's after. Ouch.

Also said that the team know they arent huge an talent but if they play as a team and go hard they can get up for a win against anyone. But they've got to play as a team.

I reckon they peaked in the Adelaide game, and its been a decline since.
They have too many out for us to lose this one...if we take our Hawks game plus some to the game.

Season defining game....or the Pies game...gotta get a scalp.

Mattner won't be returning, retired as unable to play on with chronic injury. Johnson out for the year with his ACL.
Fair outs though - we must take our chances.

As good as Sydney were last year, their depth was never tested. 18 of their players played between 22-25 games, with the next 4 playing 17-19. Mumford, Goodes and Rohan only the significant losses for a period of time.

Goodes and Jetta massive outs, as they can turn a game with a few touches, and if we continue our trend of being 'in the mix' for long periods and not putting a side away, it's guys like this that can make us pay.

The hardcore group of McVeigh, Jack, ROK, JPK, Hanneberry are relentless but at least you know what you are going to get. Malceski has been in good form, but Armfield is his man. No Shaw either to run rampant if we put too much time into one flanker.

Nick Smith has done the job on Betts before, so Garlett returning back to form his early season form as it's something that they haven't had to deal with previously. Good Yazz would be very welcome as well.

As good as we were last week the Hawks trio of Franklin, Roughead and Gunston managed 11 of their sides 15 goals. On paper a rusty Tippett, White and Morton shouldn't have the same weapons.

Even allowing for personal bias it's very winnable on paper, but I think that every week and the great sides just seem to find a way to get it done.......

Think we're a good chance to win.
Hoping for Yarran and Carrazzo to come in.
Or maybe we'll just lose by under 3 goals. I'm hoping speed and a few more players out for Sydney will help our cause.

After the game, back to the Olympic Hotel where 2 years ago, there was the hottest barmaid I've ever seen in Australia.

If she is there again can you get a pic please, cheers

Is that confirmed? Rowe was at the club training by himself in the gym around 12.30pm today whereas I think most of the other players had flown to sydney I think
