Well deserved for Simmo, thought he was great playing the sweeper role.

That was goal of the day for me. Just brilliant.

Probably the biggest change that has been implemented by Malthouse since he started.
Push forwards up the ground and leave the forward 50 open for the speedstars to do there work.

It's a tried and tested Plan A for us ... but for a million bucks a year I want to see a quality Plan B.
I suspect we'll get the chance to see what's on offer in the next couple of weeks.

Interesting how Robbo keeps getting votes. I'm a huge fan, but thought he was pretty fumbly this week. Obviously the coach is a huge fan. Got to assume he's going to do surprisingly well in the B&F.

or the opposition coaches keep rating him

meaning he might have some decent trade value at years end

Monga on the Sunday footy show gave Robbo 7 votes.

That's because he epitomizes what the coaches want theor players to do.

Pressure on the opposition ball carrier.
Pressure on the opposition ball receiver.
Protect your mates.
Go in hard when it's your turn.
Don't give up.
Give 100% of yourself.
Bleed for the jumper.

We have plenty of expensive cars in the lineup.
We need the odd F250 as well.
The turnovers are usually well downfield where the danger is less.

Will play every game this year unless he is in hospital.

Coaches' Votes
Carlton vs GWS

10 Walker (Carl)

7 Garlett (Carl)

5 Ward (GWS)

3 Simpson (Carl)

2 Armfield (Carl)

2 Robinson (Carl)

1 McLean (Carl)

So presumably one coach gave Ward 4 votes, and one gave him 1 vote. Nice work Sheeds. :screwy:

Is Kevin Bartlett on the selection panel?

I was watching a "plays of the day" highlight package on Saturday night - quite a lengthy one actually, and after seeing zero highlights from our game, my 10 year old asked sarcastically "Didn't we play today?"
Nup, didnt do single good thing in a 100 point flogging..

One of the late night news bulletins didn't mention the Carlton/GWS game at all in it's AFL wrap-up.

Would have had a good month in the VFL if the TC selection committee had their way.

Rob Wiley picked the Armfield goal in his three plays of the day, along with the Curnow tackle and the Curnow goal (as attacking pressure).

Noticed in the Armfield goal some shepherding from Yarran which I'd missed before.
