I have been a Carlton fan right thru the dark years or the 2000s, but this is the most ashamed I've ever been to support this club. That was piss weak. From the moment their was some push & shove before the first bounce I knew we were screwed. Mentally and physically weak & it's easy to blame some individuals, but the problem is throughout the whole squad. Then the truly tough players are so dumb as dog shit that it negates their positive qualities anyway. Absolutely gutted. I'll wake up tomorrow and start to believe that Malthouse is changing our culture and it will take time, but right now I see a soft team that crumbles under pressure, even if it's only pressure from spuds like the Saints had out there tonight.
This pretty well sums it up for me. How many times over recent years have we only started to show something when we are well behind? When the game is gone? The pressure is off and we rattle home to record an "honorable" loss. Early when the game is there to be won we choke. I don't give a rats about how well we played over the last quarter and a bit, we were disgraceful when the game was up for grabs. All the last quarter showed was that St Kilda are a pretty ordinary side. A pretty ordinary side who showed us what endeavour, hard work, intensity and commitment can do.
How often have Murphy and Simpson missed crucial goals over the years? Murphy had to kick that goal on half time, it was a classic "captains goal". The shot was never close.
Yarran and Kreuzer shouldn't have played, this isn't just in hindsight on my part, how could they have been right. I couldn't believe Jamo wasn't rested last week either. As for playing three ruckman...
Apparently MM has torn a strip of Waite, good. I hope he does the same to a hell of a lot of others too.
