Mrs Blue and I do not get to see many Carlton games live so we are excited about going to Perth for this game. We have a party of 5 going to the game as well as the pre-game function with Robert Wiley and Peter Bosustow as guest speakers.

A warning to anyone who intends placing a bet on the game. I appear to jinx the side whenever I see Carlton play live. Here is my track record in games attended since around 1991........

1990s (approx. 1991/2) Carlton v Essendon* @ Waverley Park – we lost by less than a goal.

2003 Carlton V Indigenous All Stars @ Marrara in Darwin – got flogged -lost 19.16 to 8.9

2007 Round 19 Port Adelaide v Carlton @ AAMI – we lost 116 to 93

2007 Round 20 Carlton v Essendon* @ MCG – we lost 16.10 to 16.12

2009 Round 7 Carlton v Fremantle @ Carrara - we lost by 7 points

2011 Round 23 Carlton v St Kilda @ MCG – we lost by 20 points

Given that it usually costs me at least $2K each time I travel interstate for a game, maybe it would be a prudent investment for the club could sponsor me to stay away

( BTW any TC'ers going to the pre-match function?)

6 changes?!?!? After 4 the week before, and 4 the week before that? 3 games by about a combined 7 goal margin.....perspective!

Agree Rhino. As I said in an earlier post, the mindset here seems to be that if we lose, then it's because the players who weren't in the team should've been. It gets a bit ridiculous when you've lost three in a row.

Caught a bit of Teague on 6PR tonight.

While diplomatic acknowledged our defence is weak and they plan on exploiting it. Plan is to give JK, Darling etc enough supply to inflict damage.

Jamo and hendo have beaten better players this year

I would drop Simmo for Bell, but I don't think MM has forgotten Simmo's role as captain of the Kangas vs Ireland in Ireland 2 years ago....living in the past. Bell has grunt and speed and seems more accurate by foot than Simmo...and I know Bell needs to improve his accuracy by foot.

..i wouldn't drop handshakes either.. ..he's actually more likely to be shown up for lack of pace on a ground like docklands/scg, but the bigger grounds like mcg/subi suit him better.. ..and he's a smart football player, we need as many guys with a real understanding of the game to be playing, instead of athletes and foreign sport recruits, which we have too many of on our list to the ratio of smart footballers..

No Embley and Waters for them.
Nicoski, Wellingham and Nic Nat still out too.

Hope this helps us.

Feeling a bit nervous about the destructive potential of the Josh and Jack Show up forward for them though.

Few Eagles fans I have talked to over here are actually happy Waters and Embley are out as it brings in more youth and (probably) leg speed. I'm hoping McKenzie misses again which means Brown has to play.

Worried about Le Cras, Shuey, Hill, Hams kicking a heap of goals.

Someone on West Coast side is sure to have one against us, it may as well be him.

His kicking skills don't appear to be what they were, don't know why, perhaps he's just always rushed- no time & space. I still remember one of his first (if not his first) match in the 2nds it was so clear at the time that his kicking skills were excellent... He had a silky smooth technique ...WTF is going on with him of late?

After 26P and 2 goals?

Not saying he will miss die to poor form. It's a huge ground and I can see him making way for a Curnow. That's all
