Wow Synbad's comments take up a lot of room per page in this thread and he even uses the term 'cock-teaser'. BUT after actually reading through it, he is truly competing with my 6 month old for the amount of dribble produced.

yeah give it to me... and ill give it right back... i promise.....im not kidding..!!!..

People here excited about a 7 season ruckman... who cant ruck yet... didnt capitalise on the score board. as a forward...made some crucial errors AGAIN!!...and laid not one tackle in a game of footy.....

Were all allowed to see things differently.. but for me to feel encouraged he has to do alot better than that...!!!

Who are you going to promote to take his spot? Within a season you have to judge a player on who he is competing against. Between seasons is the time to judge players against others in the competition. Unfortunately a guy who takes 8 marks in the forward line but can't do the basics, like kicking, is the best we have.

I agree Don and there is a statement on the CFC website offering condolences to the family. Unfortunately, I think it is up to the AFL to approve the black armbands.

Maybe so, but @&$ the AFL. If the club wants to wear black armbands for the family, they should go on ahead, permission or no. Can anyone imagine the AFL fining the club over this while at the same time doing their best to get Essendon* off the hook over their dodgy injections?

Yeah, actually I can unfortunately.

I agree John. Flower the AFL - we need to wear armbands this week.
I feel sick in the guts thinking about this.
They were part of the Carlton family.

Why would the AFL block it?

We need to show our respect and if part of that is wearing black armbands then we should. I'd like to see the AFL try and block it and if they did it should be made public for all the community to see. It doesn't matter who they barracked for it's a absolute tragedy and their families need to be given all the support possible. This is not about football it's about life.

The pies at some stage will kick a handful of unanswered goals in a very short time. It will happen quick and it will appear effortless for the pies. Us getting within a couple of goals from there will come down to us being up to throw out the plan and roll the dice and make a massive comeback.

We need to capitalise on their depleted midfield. North let them run free yesterday. We need guys like Carrazzo, Simmo, Murph all to perform far better then they did on Thursday. Beans has nicked his calf so he shouldn't be back. Daisy has only played 1 VFL match do I doubt he is match fit yet. Pies has multiple debutants yesterday and North should have taken advantage of that. We need to bring the pressure we brought against Freo. Kruze can dominate Jolly who was poor against Goldstein yesterday, but he needs to start tapping to our advantage. Hampson looks like he's out after appendectomy. So either Rowe or Warnock comes in. If Eddie has broken his jaw, then maybe Bucks gets a game?

A message of condolence on the banner at the start of the game would be fantastic too.

Laidler should replace Duigan and Bell for AJ.

I would also have Rowe for Hampson and White for Tuohy who is struggling.

My line up would be:

B: Armfield Jamison Laidler
HB: Walker White Lucas

C: Simpson Gibbs Bootsma
Foll: Kruezer Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Rowe Yarran
F: Betts Henderson Casboult

Int: Carrazzo Bell Robinson (McLean)

Jamo needs to step up and take Cloke. White on Lynch and Laidler on Goldsack.
Walker was very good last week at HB and I think with Armfield and Lucas can help with some run.

Like Bootsma and would like to see him on a wing. Can get into space and use his very good kicking skills.

Bell adds to mids and I would have McLean as sub. When pace goes out of game he can come in and help at stoppages.

Up forward is the issue. I have the three amigos who need to make forward pressure their first focus. The rest will follow.
I've moved Hendo forward and added Rowe at CHF. The reason is they are better at getting to the right spots and are good kicks. Natural forwards which we lack especially with Waite inj. Casboult then gets the third defender and isn't the focus. He is young and talented but can't be expected to carry the No.1 load yet. He may be swapped for Hampson as MM likes that big target.

IMO this adds variety and a bit more skill up forward. White can be swapped with Hendo if required.

In the end it comes down to winning contested ball and at the stoppages. We need 4 quarters of it.

Chris Yarran cleared match day report striking Bachar Houli. Force used was below that required to constitute a report.

If he's out ill as suggested?
Surely you wouldnt drop Hampson on Thursdays effort? I'd put him in our most influential 6 on the night.

Bootsma has plenty of potential but he was beaten clean in about 5 one on ones. He's not ready yet. I agree on your ins and outs on the top line but Hammer has to stay if fit.

Heard from multiple sources - generally reliable - Eddie has broken jaw. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Wouldnt surprise me.
He looked concerned straight away and the Doc came out to see him. If its broken, it was gutsy stuff to play out the remaining 3 quarters.

The way Luke Darcy carried on it was enough for Yarran to go to Jail for life for greivous bodily harm

Very gutsy!!

But I was looking forward to Eddie playing on JR/Harry. If Betts is out, probably means Yarran stays forward. Bucks could be handy too.
