Bower has been solid and reliable the last few weeks and put himself in harm's way a couple of times last Sunday. Hasn't been taking off with the ball a lot lately presumably by coach's instructions. When he used to run with it he was no doubt following coach's instructions. McInnes has been solid and reliable too, but he wasn't instructed to run with the ball like Chris Yarran. Did we dent Bower's confidence by wanting him to be a Yarran? Very few players can do that.

Bower deserves a game against the Aints.

Not if it means a kid misses out. Bower is more than likely gone, McCarthy should be given a taste.

Good thing about Ratten getting one more game and knowing he's gone?

No favourites at the selection table.

Good luck Luke Mitchell.

Am suggesting Bower has come on a lot and could be considered for another year. Either way if he gets a chance to show his worth to prospective coaches and he's not in our plans for 2013 we may be able to arrange a trade for him.

Don't know about that KK. New coach comes in ... I would think most players, particularly ones that aren't that old would be likely to get "second chances".

It'll be an interesting one.

Remember Lindsay Smith when Pagan took over?

FWIW - I can't see Russell, Bower and Thornton staying ahead of anyone else on the list, as I doubt that a) they present a better case to be kept on ahead of anyone else and b) the likes of Collins, Davies, White etc. who are the alternatives earn far less.

No doubt our flakes will win this week as there is no pressure on anyone and the game doesnt mean anything - they will say they did it for coach what a load of rubbish should have done it for the coach last week -they should know Pricky will be watching closely and identifying who just hasnt got

Ratt said today that the players need to seize the moment - the only thing we do under pressure is seize up - players need to take a good hard look at themselves - only needed to win against port and GC and would be heading into final series in about 6th position (not great but not tenth)

I hope the club doesnt waste our money sending these bozos to dubai etc I d rather see them spending time kicking for goal remember 2 7 in last quarter at etihad v Geelong 11 20 against GC its killed us for years and spend time players hitting targets -(skill level atrocious on occasions) and getting them mentality tough and understanding new game plan

I actually think we will get thrashed.

The game doesn't matter. We will play a lot of kids. Its at Etihad. St Kilda are playing better football than us and the emotion of the week will eventually takes it toll.

Players now just want the year over.

Which is why Ratts should take to the coaches box with a bottle of scotch. The ongoing sponsorship monies could reward him well in the future...Johnnie Walker - Keep Walking...and very few things would give me more pleasure than seeing an inebriated Ratten say 'You're in the ruck today Bryce...and I'm not giving you a rest until you win a hard ball!'

The pressure is off Ratts now...and players. FFS, let's play an attacking, bold game of footy and give something to the supporters to cheer about.

No matter what the score, I still think Ratts will put his feet up, light up a Cuban stogie, turn to Gavin Brown and say "All yours Rowdy...win one for the Gipper"....and I think this will happen 3 minutes into the last quarter.

Hard to see us winning.

Will be interesting to see the number of people who go and the reception the coach gets.
