Wet, cold and they'll be a little more than pumped for this you'd think.

You can't be serious.

If you know anything about football you couldn't possibly think Melbourne will win by +38. If you're guessing at an unlikley result well I suppose anything is possible but you'd have to think Carlton have the team and enough motivation of their own to take the win.

+38 pts for Melbourne, well I guess that's why sportsbet and the like make lots of money!

Maybe you're on Melbourne with a 38 pt start??

He will be and espoused a reason to take the "line" bet that is being espoused at the TAB currently

:screwy:

Also Melbourne bouncing back from big losses. They got thumped by Hawthorn by 54 then came out and lost by 186 to Geelong. One would say their just not good enough to beat good sides (considering West Coast thumped them by about 50ish from memory and we beat them by 47 as well).

If we won but they got some confidence back, could be a good for when they play West Coast :smoking:

I think you just misread what I posted mate, but you got there in the end. Melb +38.5 = Carlton to win by under 39 points.

I do not think Melbourne will pinch this game.

I think this is the only real valuable bet for this game. Carlton are no value at at $1.12, and if it rains throughout the game like it is likely too, and Melbourne give it 150% like they ought to after the week they've had, then I think this is a reasonable bet.

Carlton may win by 100 points, but I was betting above or below the line, I'd take below this week.

That's quite true but I'm only talking about where the value is in this game in my opinion. Carlton will win, I just think it will be around the 5-6 goal mark.

Happy for it to be 15-16 goals and lose $20. :)

If you listen to the presser its nothing of the sort...
Basically, after he said Jamo will return in the next few weeks, he was asked by a journo 'Is Jamison's progress a little slower then first thought' to which Ratts answered 'Maybe a little bit'.. He didnt just come out and state that theres been a setback an Jamo is gone for the year... Media beat up again...

Jouno: "Ratts, is there a gigantic rift between Swann and Icke?"
Ratts: "Why would you say that, Caro? I know nothing, absolutely nothing, about any rift. If there's a rift, then it's been the best kept secret. There are no problems in our footy department"

Headline the next day:

AFL COACH KEPT IN THE DARK AT HIS OWN CLUB
RATTEN ADMITS HE KNOWS "NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING"
"PROBLEMS IN OUR FOOTY DEPARTMENT"

Brett Ratten yesterday insisted that there were no problems in the Blues' football department. Amid growing concerns voiced by prominent supporters, the coach battened down the hatches and resolutely stuck to his passionate defence of his club, a club which in recent days has steadfastly denied that it had any major concerns. /story

Just in case some of you think this is fanciful, I had occasion to spend a few days in hospital last week, and unfortunately watched the Channel 7, 9, and 10 news a number of times. First thing in the morning, they all announced a super-interesting story coming up: a possible sighting in India of that little English girl Madeleine who went missing 4 years ago. But when the story came on, it included pretty conclusive evidence that the girl seen was definitely not Madeleine.

BUT, did that deter channels 7, 9, and 10. No sirree. For the next 36 hours, they kept running with the same bullshit story. Now that story was essentially this: "Madeleine, the little girl that went missing 4 years ago, was not seen today in India". AMAZING! The old "Dog doesn't bite boy" story.

That's what you get on commercial TV and radio news, and most of our newspapers - particularly the Herald Sun.

(I'd gladly pay an extra $5 per month on my private health insurance to get Foxtel in hospital, but that's another story.....)

If you overlay the 2 pictures, the face structure is the same.. going to send pics to sam newman for the footy show tonight..

The crap Melbourne is copping in the press this week stirs up so many bad memories of Carlton years ago..

Back to topic.

On 360 last night, the panel said that Carlton need to treat this game as a final. Assume that Melbourne is going to play at a finals like intensity and match it from the first bounce. If we do that we win handsomely.

I think it'll be a good workout.

Melbourne can play at a "finals intensity" all they want. They're still Sh!t.
