If they are down a couple of percent and we are at 100, we can do it but if they come to play we will struggle.
I'm hoping for a close finish this time and a win next time we meet and the one after that in the finals.

This game has all the hallmarks for a upset win. Filth supporters at work have been crowing all week. I have said nothing just smiled. If we win it will be fun on Monday

Apparently Ratten just said at the Peter Mac breakfast that Bower won't play. That Tweetybird thing.

i think Henderson will struggle in his first seniors game back and would rather that not be against the Filth...

They really are an arrogant bunch of cauliflower this year.

I cannot wait for them to be taken down a peg and it would be oh so sweet if we were the ones to do it. However I remember many thinking we'd upset them in Round 18 last year and look what happened...

They are a super team,in super form right now..and only a blind fool won't admit that.
I am a blind fol, because I love Carlton..and they are Collingwood.
Honestly...I've given some thought to this..
and I will be happy with anything from 24pt loss(ie..1 goal per q.)to a draw... to a scrape of a win..to a 2 or 3 goal win.
Which is why I am a blind Carlton fool, and happy to be one.

I want a great contest for 4 qtrs.

When we have our full strength side, later in the year, I'll truly believe we can smash 'em.

Agree with you, Collingwood are a very good team, in fact better than last year. The teams competing with them from last year in St Kilda and Geelong have dropped away slightly and Collingwood are streets ahead at the stage.
Having said that there is a long way to go. Surely they cant continue to have a dream run with injuries again. Dont like our chances this Friday but you never know. Overconfidence may be their undoing.
We will find out where we are at this week, just hoping we dont get blown away.
One change for me, In Jamo Out White.
Go Blues.

Agree and agree. Collingwood (and doesn't it hurt to say it) are 8 goals better than the next best team in the comp, and that team is not us. If they play to their best, and we play to ours, we'll get thumped. Just hope we are on and they are off.

If it's true that Bower is out, then Watson, Jamison (and White if we need a 3rd tall down there) will play back. The question remains whether Thornton will play, I suspect yes, forward. Certainly gives us some flexibility to use Waite whereever.

Yeah I was at the Peter Mac breakfast this morning and bower wont play, also after the wraps on Watson last week doubt he'll be dropped,
Juddy's only comment about Watto related to his impressive cranium size.

Also heard a couple of carlton malthouse whispers from some people who would know..............?????!!!!

I am keen to see how the magpies react when put up against a the very press they designed. That is where the interest is for me. Hopefully we can get thim in that situation and hopefully they cant handle it. Then it may come down to who can win the clearances. An area where surely we can match them.

I think they will win though as they will score too many easy goals. They will out mark our tall defenders enough to score half a dozen goals and since moving Gibbs out of the backline we have become very shaky when the ball hits the ground in our back 50. A lot to do with the defense not being in sync and a bit to do with the inexperience of Duigan and Laidler. I see easy goals to Didak, Sidebottom and co. We will have to work a lot harder for ours.

All the same we can get a good look at them and a good look at where we are at.

I know can't stand the bloke (and reckon he's become 100 times more arrogant since october 2010, more ego than any coach ive seen)
it's in Ratts hands.
Apparently Roos has been spoken with and there's absolutely not a chance he wants to coach again no matter what the $ offerred.
word is if malthouse snags back to back and the filth still go ahead with the buckley succession plan then mick shithouse will be one very very angry and vengeful man.......

While the Filth have been very impressive the first two weeks, they, like us, have played pretty poor opposition, and that has made them look better then they may actually be.
Surely Gav Brown and to a lesser extend Alan Richo (he hasnt been at the Filth for a few years though) might have some inside info on how to best counter their tactics. Lets see if they like the taste of their own medicine..
A victory masterminded by a couple of the Filths own favourite sons would make a win a whole lot sweeter, and hurt them that little bit more....

Ins: Jamo and Hendo

Outs: White Duigan

Jamo to take Dawes. Would really like to see Hendo start back this week. Can't start Watson on Dawes or Cloke and Bower's not in. Need someone to match it with Cloke. Thought Hendo looked ok but out of touch playing for the Bullies last week and is a proven defender (had some great games for Lions, played there a bit last year). Just give him a chance to get taken to the ball. He's got the size, strength and tank to mix it with Cloke ... he also has something Cloke doesn't have: smarts. He can also swing forward as required (perhaps when Watson comes on in Last Qtr).

Leave the back 6 as
Yazz, Hendo, Army
Russell, Jamo, Laidler

Yazz to Krakouer or next quickest forward, Army/Russell/Laidler to take any of Beams/Sidebottom/Didak/Blair/Wellingham when they drift forward.

Watson as Sub. T-Bird forward.

Hi guys,

As I do every year, I preview all Collingwood games. This year, the collingwood footy club are using my articles on the website. I am not getting any financial remuneration for them, but its a buzz seeing my name up on the site.

Here is the link to this weeks article. I think you'll agree that I've put a fair bit of work into it and its unbiased.

*I wrote this article and was unaware that Bower would probably be out.

With Bower not playing my changes would be:

In
- Jamo
- Henderson

Out
- White
- Duigan

Many times over the years Collingwood have beaten us when we were the much stronger side so maybe we can turn the tables this time.
The first time we played them in 2000 they beat us by approx 12 goals from memory......of course we annihalated them later on in the year and finished 2nd on the ladder whilst they were 2nd last at the end of the H&A season.
