had more shots at goal

losing by 22

kicking efficiency forward 32%---brissy 67%

last week at half time 11 1

We need a key forward.

Kick the goals early and it would be a different story with the forward line. If wait kicked his, satanta kicked all his we would be able to spread them a bit better. In the end our forward entries were all over the place.

We are playing well around the ground however. Some silly turnovers from the raw Anderson, Robo and yaz and of course Thornton have cost us.

We are still a chance but we need to start nailing them goals.

That is what is so frustrating - we have killed them out of the middle.

We have killed them in contested possessions.

We have probably had more inside 50s.

We have dominated the key statistics yet our pathetic execution has left us 4 goals down.

Yeah i should have said that better.

Our clearance work has been good, but our ball movement through the middle is terrible.

We are getting corralled to the wings and not working anywhere near hard enough to present an option.

yeah but last week there was no pressure on the kicker.

This week Brisbane are sweating on the first possession and have runners outside ready for the receive ... and Blues end up too many too close to the ball and cannot get it cleanly to a clear team mate often enough who then has an option forward.

Its not so much our goal kicking thats letting us down, its our field kicking and decision making. We're really letting ourselves down badly, doing all the hard work and them pissing it away.

I hope Ratts puts a positive spin on it at half-time, we're right in this, just need to tidy it up. I'd love to see how many Brisbane goals have come from poor turnovers.

I think we're playing pretty well.

We're winning the ball out of the center and the stoppages.

We're just getting hurt hard by the minutest of mishaps.

If we can start kicking accurately into the forward 50 and through the posts i reckon we could come back and actually bury them.
We really need to work on this facet of the game.

Brisbane's backline are a bit perplexed i must say. we're just being too sloppy with the ball.

After watching the first half of this game, i am more confident that we are a top eight side.

Kreuzer, O'hAilpin, Waite, Betts all should have kicked pretty easy goals. Goals Brown and Fevola eat for breakfast.

Nothing beats having blokes like those two in front of goal.

Spot on SB. We aren't being troubled by a single match-up, we're just using the ball stupidly in adverse conditions. It's effectively wet weather footy out there and we're not playing to it. Our mistakes are just make our lesser lights more and more nervous in possession.

A moment's hesitation here, a moment's hesitation there and an opportunity lost. That can be changed around pretty quickly. I expect a bit of fire in the second half.

This maybe true of field kicking, but not goal kicking.
