So you're saying we're going to be crap next year verbs?

You reckon? We're a team on the rise.

Give us two games against all of the top eight sides from this year and I reckon we'll end up in front.

Not based on those teams that made the 8 last year - we're destined for failure!!

- Stevens will be in the team next year - people need to live with that.
As long as he is on the list, he will be given chances to play. People need to accept that.

- Wiggins is going allright comparatively, but it would be a great time to bow out honorably.

- Houlihan (while not best on ground by a long shot) did some fantastic things also. Either way he will be in the top 22 next year - get used to it.

- Cloke for Setanta: Yes Bradshaw played well, but Bower Played well also. I think Cloke (while not great) offered us a bit more up forward than Setanta has in recent weeks.
Very soft to lose from the position we were, but not sure if you can blame it one the Cloke for Setanta switch.

- Garlett fell away at times, but people have short memories if they cannot remember similar things with Yarran. Wait till next year and they will both be up and gunning

Also I can live with the Grigg inclusion.

I think he was 50/50 - disposal not good enough for finals, but improving.
I think if we had won people would be giving him a marginal pass

My only real gripe is the way Judd was benched and Kreuzer was rest at the EXACT WRONG TIME
was so flowering obvious that they were coming and we were pooing our panties

That was just awful. :hitcomputer:

Just one more goal at a crucial stage there at the start of the last and we might have won by 8-10 instead of losing. Unbelievable.

No coincidence that they somehow got back into it while Judd was off the ground. Think we should have played Setanta instead of Cloke.

All eyes now turn to list management of players and support staff.

I'd just like to say thank you to Pratty for saving our club and getting us back to being good enough to play finals again after many years of football pain. Yeah, from the bottom off my heart even though it hurts bad today... :thanks:

We could have should have won this and thats probably going to be the right pre-season motivation for where our young players and coaching staff are at.

Very disappointing. Turning point was in the last qrt when Simpson kicked the ball straight to a Lions player in our forward 50 and they rebounded and kicked a goal. It seemed that as soon we got 5 goals up everyone stopped running, wasnt helped by having half our midfield in Judd, Murphy and Simpson all off the ground at the same time and the Lions kicked a couple of goals in this time. Hope the players and coaching staff learnt something from this.

What does it matter...it's what he said during the last 30 minutes of the game that is much more important.

Well we had the chance to show the world we are not down hill skiers, but instead we showed that we quite like an easy downhill run. While many will find positives etc, and there were positives, overwhelmingly that was terrible. 5 goals up in the last quarter against a side that was as inexperienced as us and had a few players underdone, was a woeful effort. Not enough players wanted to play with the required intensity. We let them back in. Really why would we be better for the experience, why would we need to lose a game like that to learn to play with the intensity that put you in a winning position, for the whole game. The trouble is that not enough players follow Judd's example and give 100% all the time.

Cloke kicked one booming goal and a flukey hack in mid air, he missed two other very gettable shots, and the only other possessions I remember were a snap on the fall and a handball to Brissy. He tried hard and rucked quite well but when the ball hit the ground he left us a man short. The strategy of playing 3 ruckmen was stupid. It left our other forwards with too much chasing. I also can't understand why we didn't kick it to Cloke one out. Presumably he was there to provide another target against a smaller opponent, but he was barely involved in any contested marking contests, we kicked it to Fev.

Big K did okay around the ground, but in the last Mitch Clarke was too good. We played 3 ruckmen on him and he stiil took the honours.

Grigg looks in dreadful form. I know we are down on players but picking a young player in that sort of form isn't going to work.

Need to cut deeply again. May have to take a step back to go forward. Houla, Scotland, and Stevo were alright tonight, but Houla particularly is looking slow.

One wonders what was said at 3/4 time. Clearly Voss exhorted his guys to stand up, surely all our players would have been reminded that it wasn't up to Chris Judd, but up to all the players to take individual responsibility to be the one to run as hard as they can, be as desperate as they can till the final siren. They thought they didn't have to do that when we got 5 up. That shows a lack of character and leadership. We have a way to go.

And you read what into that?

To crap on about how we are going to have a tough draw next year because we are going to have to play "top 8" sides twice next year is primary school rubbish.

The "top 8" from this year will be irrelevant when the ball is first bounced this year. Either we're on the way up, or we're on the way down like North and Sydney or a one hit wonder who almost made it again like Hawthorn.

I gather you think we're either a one hi wonder (with no chance of making it next year) or like Syndey and North, a team in decline.

Either way, your delusional.
