OUr running team will run straight passed their top heavy team. We will run them into the ground.
If their talls become a factor on their forward line it will be because our runners and onballer are not doing their jobs properly.

If we tackle hard and keep the ball moving quick once we have won it we should be right and they will be left wondering why they selected such a tall team.

Go Blues !

i thought neil craig was a bit more imaginative than that... because that pelican, moran, kicked a few goals against us last year, he thinks the same crap will happen again... desperate move going tall by a man nearly out of ideas

It's a really good team.

We should run them off their legs.

They are going to bomb it high in the forwardline because that's what we did to Pies, plus the fact that Crows don't have too many avenues in of late. I'd prefer Setanta for their ruck rotations in the pocket, but I'm sure we are going to kill them at the clearances.

Blues by 36 points easily.

Four quarter effort. They know we're coming.

Bettsy to win the toss and score first goal.

Right at the moment Hoops has more to offer than Yaz. Hopefully that will change in the not too distant future but it hasn't happened yet.

Pleased with no change to the team this week.

Yarran has shown some nice skills albeit in small doses and will benefit enormously from these few games. He is 2nd youngest on the list - a baby in football terms. In the circumstances it is fair enough to get another game into him now despite equally valid arguments to the contrary. Might be handy for us later in the year for him to have this experience now.

Last week's bye for the Bullants might have been a good thing as it means Houlihan, Garlett and Wiggins will have been freshened up to fight to be first in line for promotion. Good to see some serious competition developing for the possie.

Tough game. Will settle for a 1 point win. Hope there is a plan this time for managing the post match debrief so no more allegations of shenanigans ala GC.

The Crows willingness to try and intervene with the Shirley ruling just smacks of hypocrisy. John Reid is a @#$%&! hypocrite and I'm looking forward to the last day of he tenure.

They have gone real tall. Moran is @#$%&! useless and soft. Smash him. Judd will have a bath. Feeling confident now.....

The confidence by some people on this forum is well...........astoun......actually, it's quite predictable. I don't have the time nor the inclination to analyse what people say, but I hope that TC'ers who pump the Blues up midweek with comments like, "we'll beat them easily' or "neil craig's got few ideas" etc etc etc etc dont't do a backflip if we lose and confront those who are critical of the loss with comments such as, "some people here don't know how far back we've come from" or "we're developing, it will take time" or "we were just inaccurate" etc etc etc
I'll be over the moon IF we win. It's still an interstate game against a well drilled opponent who know how to restrict flow and movement. I'll take a hard fought, even if it's a little lucky, 1 point win.

I am serious.....and...

Look we must play on at all costs...make them run and try and make them play under pressure.
I'ld like to see us use the corridor more too...The Brisbane Lions did this last week and (as was discussed on OWAAT?) Adel. just couldn't do anything right in the second half...it's because they were knackered as they aren't used to it.

Combined with fine weather and a few (not so athletic) talls, we have to make sure we play a hard and defensive first half. They still have skil and run whilst they are fresh and we don't want to be 4 goals down at half time.

This is a vital game for us. The Crows are another of those 'bogey' teams that we need to shake off to get back to the top. We can't expect to be flag contenders as long as middle-road teams like Adelaide, Essendon* or Sydney continue to have long winning streaks over us. Also, we need to learn to beat the flowering flood, an achilles heel of ours for too long, and with key outs for them they'll focus exclusively on shutting us down at every opportunity.

A record losing steak actually - not just a long one...

Adelaide, Sydney, St Kilda and North are each on record winning streaks against us - with the Swans increasing theirs again earlier this year.

Go say that in the Yarran thread. :P

The quickest Blues team that I saw play this year was against the Doggies, and that did not include Yarran.

I would like to see Setanta get a run against the Crows to counter their height, which will be used against Thorton. T-Bird to remain the third man up/loose player in defence as he thrives in that role. Get Santy to stick to one of their gorilla forwards and keep Waite in front of the goals we're kicking to.

If we have to rob Peter to pay Paul because Ratts continues his anti-Setanta stance then I'll spew up!!! Waite needs to stay forward to relieve Fev, create headaches for their defenders and to feed Betts.

So my only change would be Setanta in....Yarran out.

Ah Carlton70, you do realise that the teams have already been announced and there is no change?
