Apparently we will find out tomorrow when the board is set to make the announcement. It's tipped to be either Bradley or Ratten.

Tipped to be Ratten and has been subtly told not to be worried if we don't win another game - as per Caroline Wilson. Claims are that he is worried about the fact that the team wont win another game and how he will look in the long term for other coaching aspirations.

I don't know if he's been told not to WORRY about losing every other game (Caro is well-known for exagerrating), but I'm sure whoever gets the job will be given a brief to play the kids and try new things, and what happens, happens.

..heyla, just on footy classified, Caro said that the caretaker position as coach has been offered to ratten, and that he's most likely to accept.. ..she also said/implied that Ratts was told that it's acceptable to not win any games (due to PP i assume)..

And according to the gospel of Synbad those ones must be Kouta, Campo (while he was there), Lappin & Whitnal?

I reckon if Ratts is fair dinkum about wanting the job then he should be banging down the door of Greg Swann's office demanding the role. Not meekly accepting the job if he's already accepting failure, by making sure it's okay if he doesn't win a game.

Ironic that the two years we "won" the spoon under Pagan were the only two not to have seen a 100pt loss during his tenure.

Ratten set to become the caretaker

DECORATED former skipper Brett Ratten is expected to take over as caretaker coach of Carlton following yesterday's removal of Denis Pagan, who had more than a year remaining on his lucrative contract...

Ratten set to become the caretaker
Quote:
Michael Voss — the media favourite to take over as an untried coach next year — far from a fait accompli and the odds shortening on the former champion spending another year in the media.

Quote:
Collingwood assistant McKenna, who is highly regarded by Swann

All good. Nice to be in a position to choose from such high quality candidates.

I haven't read all the posts but I am happy to see at least on this page there hasn't been any over jubilant mocking of Denis.
He has been deemed a failure at Carlton and the numbers would suggest that that is true. having said that, he didn't have a lot to work with early on and the kids still aren't ready to dominate games.
From what I have read, his departure was dignified and he paid tribute to the club.
The least we can do is let him go in peace.
Thanks for trying, Denis but I think we will be better off on both sides now you have left.
Now for the selection of the new coach. If Swann has a lot of influence, maybe McKenna will get a gig but I am hoping SOS will come across.
Whomever we select, I hope the contract is performance based, because the incoming coach has a potential premiership team on his hands and he should deliver #17. It would be unforgiveable if we missed the window as The Saints seem to have done.
Go the Baby Blues

Ratten worries me, if he wants the Melbourne job he will win round 22!
Get one of the Auskick dads to coach or Spud Frawley from whom we can all learn. If we don't get Kruezer we are clowns.

Hopefully that appointment doesn’t compromise us in round 22 against Melbourne.
We can’t afford to miss out on that priority pick.

Well if we win we don't deserve the pick do we?
