I realise no-one will probably belive what he says but this is MLG's expressed view.
"It's interesting where you guys (media) get your information from ... I'm not sure we're at the last 10 (candidates) yet," LoGiudice said on Monday.

"The most important thing is that the decision is made with the proper due diligence - hopefully that's late August.." http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-08-03/m ... -logiudice

I'll take what MLG says with a pinch of salt. That said, if a decision has been made and it is Barker, what's to be gained by waiting till late August (or beyond) to announce?

Dont undersell the quality or intelligence of those involved. We have a strong selection committee which contains people of integrity.
They will see the process through.

By all means kick the club if they disregard the nominated candidate but I suspect we're still a way off that situation. Forget the rumours or the Bigfoot insiders, lets wait for it to play out.
IMO, the correct decision will be made.

Could they sign Barker as coach and Lloyd for a different role?

I was thinking about this last night.

Head coach for strategy, game day, etc. Lloyd for development, managing the players and coaching group.

Turning this club around is going to be a huge task. There's been talk of the recruiting team being bolstered by someone from GWS, our coaching and development group is going to need as many resources as we can get. Can't make any poor decisions here.

Would love to see something like

Head Coach/Strategy/Game Day - Stuart Dew
Head of Development/Training/Coaches organiser/Player welfare - Simon Lloyd
Senior Assistant Coach - Dean Laidley
Midfield Coaches x 2
Forwards Coach
Backline Coach
Opposition Coach
Northern Blues/Development Coach
Development Coaches (as many as we can afford)

Players/Leadership Coach - strong leader from a successful club who's role is to work more closely with the playing group. An off field captain if you like. Someone like Ling (not Ling because I don't think he wants it), Hodge, Bolton who will mentor the players and leadership group. We've had a massive leadership void for 15 years which needs to be addressed.

He'd already be on very good coin at Freo.
