Perhaps he lowered his price.

My understanding is that Malthouse wasn't a fan of Sav and he got sacked as a result

Is there anyone Malthouse actually did like?

... or who liked him?

Completely not true. It was purely about cost cutting from the club. Sav would have made more working part time at Kmart than he would have to be a specialist coach. It's great to have him back. He and Levi have a great relationship and I think all parties are happy that they have been able to come to amicable arrangement.

I'm glad to hear all of that. Also, I should have stated that I heard rumours Malthouse didn't like him. I certainly didn't mean it to come across as fact.

No worries. It was a reasonable assumption given Malthouse cut Sav from Collingwood all of those years ago but they enjoyed a good relationship as coaches. Incidentally, Anthony was Mick's favorite player to coach after Daisy of course

Classic line from a comedy... Two old blokes talking, realise they are WWII vets... Greek realises he's talking to an Italian
Greek says 'ahhh Italian army.... For fight bullsh!t, but looks.... Number one!'

Maybe Bolts can tell Ange that the Tom Rogic / Aaron Mooy midfield combo is not working against teams with extreme pace.

I'm liking the very low key approach Bolts and the club seem to be taking. Its the time of the year for lots of fluff pieces, but I'm actually somewhat relieved to see what seems to be a definite strategy to take a low profile. Maybe its to get us used to lower expectations.

Or are others annoyed that we haven't seen more of Bolts ?

Was thinking about this just yesterday - I'm pleased with the approach he's taking.

I don't think it is by design. I would think the club would want those fluffy stories and as much positive news as possible to help build membership and hype. Last year we had a new coach /era so we were the talk of the town for a short while but this year we are not a sexy club :smoking:

You can also add the womens team taking a lot of the spotlight off the mens team which has been a breathe of fresh air.
