Cal Twomey has Harry Dean rated at pick 10.
He's going to cost a bit.

Caught up in the news cycle. No credibility on the line in July.

Late first round. Take it to the bank.

The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Saad will retire at the end of the year. Reason given is that his hamstrings are stuffed.
Anyone heard this?

I get a bit annoyed reading articles like this where Curnow wants to leave for "lifestyle" factors. You can hear the marketing spin from his manager who has instructed him to say every time "lifestyle".
What, he can't get to a beach in Melbourne or Adelaide? On his wage, he can't make the trip to Torquay?

Isn't it weird that all the "lifestyle" factors choices always end up at the Sydney Swans or Geelong.

It is baloney..."lifetstyle"...he just wants to get to a club that he think will guarantee him success, and seeing as "equalisation" doesn't work (Swans and Geelong are always playing finals despite "equalisation") he needs to be set free.

Bull****

There are nice beaches in Perth...trade with West Coast please if he has to go. He can get plenty of "lifestyle" there.

If he goes to Swans or Geelong make them pay through the nose...no Mr Nice Guy. I am sick of all the one way traffic of premium players to those two clubs. And then there is the Gold Coast, which has been engineered to succeed. Nice to have all those academy picks coming through.

That would explain his fading impact this year...a real shame as a fit Saad is exactly the type of player we need.

I’m optimistic about the future
I reckon there has definitely been a been a shift in the way the club sees it’s future
The Docherty retirement
DeKoning possibility going
For the first time in a very long time we actually have some potentially good kids who have been recruited in the draft
Cowan
Smith
O’Farrell
Wilson
Young
O’Keefe
White
Moir

So many of the senior players those players who gave up too much for in picks salary cap length of contracts have not met the expectations
Maybe finally the club “ is getting it”
The opportunity is there to press forward with optimism
That’s why the thought of Curnow going doesn’t concern me if we get something worthwhile out of it
Same with other senior players

Listen mate - I don't know who you are or what you've done with Keogh, but there's just no way known you're purporting who you say you are.

Bull**it to trading Curnow.

He needs support around him, but he demonstrated on the weekend he can even beat his bogey opposition players such as Steven May.

That shows progression.

The only way you could even consider trading Curnow is if it isn't to Sydney or Geelong (or the AFL sponsored team in Gold Coast)...or if you get huge overs on it. And I mean a first round pick, a premium star player and a 2nd round pick. Or some combination where the club really has to pay through the nose to get him. Something like what Carlton gave up to get Judd across.

That’s a massive ‘if’.

His contract isn’t portable - especially if it’s tied to the cap as a percentage.

We’d have to buy a decent return by eating a sizeable chunk of his salary, or taking on one of theirs… or both.

Old school ITK on BF says Charlie's head is very much out of Carlton - same person who said a while back don't be surprised if a leadership group player leaves.

I can't say I'm fussed either way.

Charlie probably wants to go to another club where the players will kick the ball to his leads instead of over and on top of his head.

The playing list is imploding.
When the list manager decides that the players weren't good enough and didn't bring in depth to cover injuries and filled the list up with under 21 players it's not surprising that senior players starved of success are looking elsewhere.
Austin gave a big FU to Cripps Walsh Harry TDK Curnow JSOS Saad last year so now they all want out.
You are not stronger together when you do what he did.
Club will pay for this for years to come.
It is not to dissimilar to what Pagan did

Domanic Akuei (delisted), Jack Caroll (delisted), David Cuningham (delisted), Sam Durdin (delisted), Matt Kennedy (trade, Western Bulldogs), Caleb Marchbank (delisted), Jack Martin (delisted), Alex Mirkov (delisted), Matt Owies (trade, West Coast)

Most of them couldn't get on the park! The only players on that list who could get a regular game were an inside mid (of which we have oversupply and HE requested the move) and a small forward (last time I looked, we weren't short there either)
We bought in a defender (Haynes) who has probably been in our best 5 performers. And a gun draftee who could offer skills our other mids are incapable of.

If the players cant handle their broken down hack mates being moved on to improve the list, bad @#$%&! luck. It's not a social club. It's an elite sporting club and the paying members deserve elite performance and behaviours. If the players can't handle that, they're not the players we need.

The club won't "pay for this in years to come". It will only get stronger. 30 years with zero success. The pandering needs to stop. And if your post has any credibility (which I highly doubt), then this is exactly the time.
How is it working out so far. Preliminary final 2 years ago with the broken down hacks and extra inside mid. Made the 8 last year

This year How is it looking.
