So let's assume 3 goes to the draft.

Let's also assume we've got a "last resort" position agreed in principle with GWS for Kennedy (our 3rd round pick and pick swap of next years second round).

Let's assume we get 10 and either 12 or 16 for Gibbs. Do we come out of left field and wave 12/16 at the Bulldogs for Stringer? Or do we give 16 to CheatsFC for their two picks in the 20's, one each for Kennedy and Lang... and keep next years second round to ourselves?

That's the rumour I heard the other day. I didn't believe it at first. But it seems to be making momentum now.

Quote:
- Gibbs to Adelaide for pick 10 and 2018's first pick (from Melbourne Demons).

- Pick 10 to Bulldogs for Jake Stringer and pick 28.

- Pick 28 to GWS for Matthew Kennedy.

Meaning we lose Gibbs but gain Stringer, Kennedy and a first round pick in 2018's draft (plus keep our pick 3 this year)

Not Stringer please, I thought we had a no flower policy. He's no longer wanted at the Dawgs for a reason.

I'll be rapted with Kennedy and Lang additions to the midfield. Not writing off Smedts either. Building nicely...

I wouldn't worry. At best we'll help * (shudder) with a pick swap of some kind after the Gibbs trade.

how about this

Gibbs to Crows for 10 & 16

16 to Brisbane for Schache & 20

20 to Geelong for Lang + 35 (then Geelong can trade 19 & 29 to GCS if they really want ablett)

35 to GWS for Kennedy (throw in 40 if we need to)

got to the draft with 3, 10, Schache, Lang and Kennedy ... and we lose Gibbs ... huge for Carlton!!

Why would Brisbane do that?

Short answer is - they wouldn’t!

How about we not give away first round picks and even early second round picks for unproven players, nothing under pick 35 for any of those players mentioned Kennedy Schache Lang...Stringer would probably be worth a late first, Lang is a 4th rounder at best, if Devon Smith was only worth the equivalent of pick 50 for the scum; why are we overpaying for Kennedy?

Adelaide tried to screw us the same way Geelong did on the Touhy trade, this is an example of how you can end up paying badly for previous stupid deals.

Here's what I think happens.

SOS goes Plan B with the Lobbe/pick upgrade, gets Kennedy done with that and Lang done with our #40

Adelaide get their way on Gibbs, leaving out their future 2nd.

It feels like the Yarran trade, where ultimately we'll take what we get. It's still good, but not *as* good.

Let's get the popcorn in the microwave at 1:50pm tomorrow.

Sad to be losing our A grade Midfielder and No 1 pick Gibbs, but to have 3, 10 & 16 in our hands in 2017, and the 2018 and 2019 First rounders as bargaining chips....AMAZING.

Great position to be in with our rebuild.

FA Lynch or Shiel next year ????...

Kennedy, Lang, Raynor/ Cerra, and the return of Cripps and Curnow....2018 will be better than 2017

Surely we now use Adelaide's pick 10 to get the Adelaide boy Fogarty that they had their hearts set on!

Gibbs is a big loss short term and it will affect our midfield next year, but long term, it was a fantastic deal.

having picks 3, 10 & 16 will potentially bring us 3 quality players, so the future looks bright!!
