No - he didn't - that was his gut feeling I believe.

Whether he turns up in 2 weeks or 4 or 6 is fairly irrelevant.

Hope he dangles a big enough carrot, going by what Darren Jolly says.

For what it's worth; I've just been told by my Hawthorn insider that ''Carlton has got Malthouse and Cloke''

Make of it what you will.

I've been told too that Buckley threatened to leave C/wood if he wasn't given the Coaching gig; so Mick ended up against his will as Director of Coaching.

Mick has something to prove.

If he starts 1st of October, I think that is a bit late. What about planning in terms of list management and the trade period ? We will be behind the 8th ball there one would think.

Ha....ha...

The way Synners posts it's all the same, gut feel, insider trading etc.......

I would say that timing is pretty important given the way things move in the off season.

Mm says he won't be making a decision until after the season!!!!

List management issues will want the senior coaches input surely!!!

So mid oct is a bit late don't you think ?

Well we will know soon enough!!!

Synners has put his info/contacts/cajones on the line saying mm will be here in two weeks, and mm saying he will not make a decision until the dust settles on the footy season!!!!!! He also has contractual arrangements in the media.

We'll see

If Malthouse doesn't have an 'out' clause in his current contracts, I'll eat David Cloke's mooostache.

If Malthouse does become coach, you would think it would be announced some time in the next 10 days or so, with the usual - opportunity came up, had to make a decision, list needs to be reviewed etc - reasons for not waiting until after the GF.

Take a look at MM last Premiership side in 2010. Roughly the same side finished runner up in 2011. How do we compare? Given some real development and individual improvement supported by a finals style game plan anything can happen!

B: Nick Maxwell Nathan Brown Alan Toovey
B: Jeremy Laidler Michael Jamison Zac Touhy

HB: Harry O'Brien Ben Reid Heath Shaw
HB: Andrew McInnes Lachie Henderson Chris Yarran

C: Sharrod Wellingham Dane Swan Ben Johnson
C: Kade Simpson Brock McLean Bryce Gibbs

HF: Alan Didak Travis Cloke Luke Ball
HF: Jeff Garlett Jarrod Waite Andrew Carrazzo

F: Dayne Beams Chris Dawes Steele Sidebottom
F: Mitch Robinson Levi Casboult Eddie Betts

Foll:Darren Jolly Scott Pendlebury Dale Thomas
Foll: Matthew Kruezer Chris Judd Marc Murphy

Int: Jarryd Blair Brent Macaffer Tyson Goldsack Leigh Brown
Int: Tom Bell Heath Scotland Andrew Walker Simon White

other possibles: Armfield Lucas Watson Duigan Collins Bootsma Warnock Hampson Davies Collins ROK Curnow Ellard Buckley Dale

Long-term that means nothing. Short-term it means everything!

We lost by 12 goals to the Swans (12th) and 9 goals to St Kilda (14th) in 1995.
