Do I take that Voss has the full support of the board.

Not good

I would love just once that they would come out and say we are not happy Voss performance is below expectations and if things don't improve we will march him out the door.
I am sure Voss would prefer that than you have the full support

That's the definition of "full support of the board".

look it up in any language you choose.

It means: "win or you're f'in gone"

If Sayers came out and said that, we'd be accused of being a laughing stock and stuck in the old days again.

Hardwick took Richmond to 3 consecutive finals losses prior to him almost losing his job at the end of 2016.
He then threw everything out the door and produced a totally new game plan which we know produced 3 flags

I still remember Lloyd reviewing an ess/rich game on the Sunday footy show around that time where he smugly claimed he had inside knowledge that bombers tactics were to allow the tigers to posses the ball, knowing they would turn it over eventually and play off that... even showed footage to prove his point.

That's where we are atm... everyone knows what we do and where we go... and we give the ball back

I wouldn’t mind our current performance being impacted.

Oh boy.

Hardwick quits Richmond.

How long until the drums start beating

Maybe the full support really is the kiss of death...

I agree we should stick the course, but, could you explain why it's such an emphatic no?

The guy did the impossible at Richmond.

Thanks for that. Interesting take.

I don’t rate him. Once he lost his key assistance, he is found out again.

So, Voss needs good assistants around him then?

Dimma as an assistant?

Thoughts?

I don't think he could be an assistant. He'd have to be a director of coaching or whatever. Also highly unlikely

Perhaps Voss isn’t a good coach this year, but maybe he can actually learn and improve as a coach and be better next year, then better again the year after that?

Is it wrong to think that coaches can get better over time?

Not wrong but this is his second stint, with plenty of assistant experience in between. He needs to work it out soonish.

I'm not sure if some coaches with late success can credit it to their increased wisdom or a list with the right balance of freakish talent. Blight is one I'm thinking of, although he wasn't afraid to mix it up from the beginning.

I think the learning on the job aspect gets largely forgotten when assessing coaches (and umpires).

Is out-of-the-box robot coach AI on the horizon yet?

Did either of you see the VFL game? The Willy coach basically said the same thing in a Q time interview on the TV coverage "we knew how they were going to play so we set up to counter that and that's why we are where we are"
