I articulated my concerns to Mr Trigg and LoGiudice at the end of 2014. No point airing them here other than to vent or troll (and I've been guilty of both). So it probably was a case of 'holding out' in 2015 and in 2016 attending AFL matches is just something I'm not particularly interested in doing. I'll attend football again when Carlton plays finals.

No longer bitter and twisted. Maybe once upon a time. Not expecting red carpet...not even a phone call. Just not interested. Different for everyone, but I don't think anyone should be shamed for not purchasing a membership.

So you'll attend football in 2016

Probably not the thread for this anyway

Not sure I remember anyone mentioning a tour of Yankee Stadium or 'the vibe' jim. Can you explain further?

I've mentioned the issues I have with the club over the years. Most of them are similar to Doc, Synbad and others. I think they've explained them pretty well actually.

So how long have you been a board member at Carlton?

For someone who is not bitter and twisted but is just " not interested" you are doing a good job of imitating someone who believes the exact opposite.
Just what is your motivation to infest a rather positive board with this stuff? I realise now that i am being guilty of doing the same thing by responding to this sort of trolling so i will cease and desist now.

Not wishing to start a fight....but not interested Doc and yet post on TC?....that is like THE most interested thing you could do....I don't get it.

It seems to me that you are making some kind of statement.....that's cool and all...but you surely are interested.

I think the most 'interested' thing I could do would be to go to games, watch games, follow Carlton on social media and comment incessantly on player performances...none of which I currently do. I'm far from a regular - but TC is, and has always been a pretty good resource for news and opinion. It's nice to logon every once in a while and use TC as that source. One can go cold turkey on footy pretty easily - but you don't stop being a Carlton supporter. Best way I can describe it.

So let's get this thread back on track...

Agreed doc.
Unless some of you would like mandatory tattoos with say. Scale of 1 to 10 on how loyal a supporter you were/are?
Better still..maybe tattoos on the foreheads of those who believe they are the only worthy supporters?
My point is..
Live and live..let everyone enjoy this wonderful phase we are experiencing
After all...this is a footy forum!
Relax and enjoy
Do try to be respectful and forgiving of your fellow posters.
If you find you still carry certain prejudices for old perceived wrongs..try pm ing the poster..or...let it go!!!!!! (Please :) )
Rant over.
Cheers.

The evolution/consolidation of the game style since the NAB Cup has been the most pleasing aspect of the coaching groups performance for me.
When we played the Swans in the Nab Challenge, the press was impressive but we were caught out with Buddy getting us out the back a few times. Some players were still reluctant to leave their man and push up to man up the loose player on the next line. It only takes a moment of hesitation and you fail to impact the contests or slow down the ball movement.
As the season has progressed, our players have become extremely proficient at playing team defence instead of the isolated rubbish we've seen over the past few seasons.
The other pleasing progression is the willingness to hit up forward 50 options instead of the long bomb. The first few games of the season proper saw us falling back into bad habits and banging it long to Casboult or Kruezer. It was blatantly obvious that it needed to change and it has.
Its only my observation and I have zero data to prove it but I suspect our uncontested marks inside 50 have increased significantly over the past 8 weeks and our accuracy/efficiency is improving as a result.
Credit to the coaches.

 All of it BV.

Bolton has built a loyal bunch of men around him. These guys, as a group, may lead Carlton for many a year.

We have a machine. Ready for the White House. Next the world.

The trick for Bolton and us, his new disciples, will be how we travel through the tough times.

Bolton first class handling of the media hype re Silvagni.

So much better a media performer than the previous coach. Talks to fans through the media rather than having selfish one on one battles with journos.
