Good call.

I can't believe we would play no genuine mid on the interchange, and 5 small forwards.

Just doesn't make sense.

It's not the changes I'd make personally but that's what I was given by someone who hasn't been wrong about team selection since last season. Happy to wear it if it's incorrect but I won't name my source. Cripps isn't 100% so I'd imagine Lord at least flys over.

To be fair.. it's not super far fetched

Harry for Young is given
Carroll takes Cowan's role
Durdin replaces Moir in the fwd line
Cottrell to potentially give us more run in the middle

just like last season.

it just feels each week when the team is announced that they're shuffling the deck chairs. no real strategy, no real identifiable way that they want to play. instead shoehorning round pegs into square holes.

we're already screwed if we lose a mid in the 1st qtr. we'll be putting the ones there under extra minutes - running extra risk of losing another to injury. and we'll be down some run and ball winning in a team already struggling (with run).

Decent selections if correct.
I'd be rapt to see Durdin back in, White retained and Carroll selected.
Probably means Williams or Cerra will play half back.

Hopefully not Cerra.

I don’t give a stuff if he’s vanilla. He’s easily our best midfielder this season.

agreed. cerra needs to spend all his time in the middle. he looks like he's starting to find his legs and trusting his body again.

From all accounts, Cripps is playing sore and struggling

Could there not be a better game to strategically manage him and rest him???

This not only helps him in the short term with his body but gives a junior player (eg. Lord) another opportunity to step up to AFL level

We can froth at the mouth as much as we want about our poor development, but this is a perfect opportunity to fast track that development at the source (in the cut and thrust of senior football)

Such a predictable organisation with the same predictable outcomes...we are the template for Einstein's theory of insanity

Good luck telling your captain, when you're 0-4, to rest because he's a bit sore.

I don't like him half back either but he's had a few stints there over the past 12 months, including this year. I suspect they're trying to get better ball use off half back and he doesn't jib the contest like some of our defenders. Hopefully it's Williams that gets the gig.
If that is actually the team, you'd think Cottrell may play wing. I'm not a fan of that option. He's ok rotating as the 3rd wingman but both he and Acres are more suited to the fat side wing.
Perhaps Walsh may push up there instead of high half forward. My preference would be for Elijah to come in instead of Cottrell.

It shouldn't be his choice. He was a minimal contributor last week. Give a fit player the role.

Carroll for Cowan
Cotrell for Lord
Harry for Young
Durdin for Moir

On the surface it's a better team
