Just watched the Voss presser on H.

My take only but visually he looked like he was seething and that didn't match the corp-speak coming out of his mouth.

He must wonder about the intestinal fortitude of some of his players I reckon

Obviously Boyd in.
Kemp survives? .... I reckon put Gov in his spot
Acres as sub unless we want to give his spot to a 20yo kid.
No thanks to Evans. Too many average small forwards playing already: Motlop and Fogarty

What's left:

Mature

23 Durdin ... worth the risk for me. He has genuine pace.
21 White ... yep. Get him in for Fogarty

Kids

20 Binns ... yeah nah yeah for Acres?
20 Moir
20 Lemmey 20 ....for Kemp....yeah nah
20 Wilson 20
20 Carroll 20 ... he should be in the team imo
20 O'Keefe
19 Charleson
19 O'Farrell
19 B.Camporeale ... managed

Considering we have playing

19 L. Camporeale
20 Lord
20 Hollands
20 Cowan

bondi you know I love everything about you but ease up on the Carroll
This kid is 19
He played 6 games in his last season of under 18
He was taken as a rookie selection
He missed the entire of last season
He has played 2 practice games
He rolled his ankle and been out for 3 weeks

Please let this kid find his feet in twos and stop calling for his selection he couldn't possibly be ready to play at AFL level

Who loves you babeee? The feeling is mutual.
You and I are not the selectors. So don't worry about it.

You're right, he's only 19yo and doesnt turn 20 till November. Impressive kid.

I know what I'm talking about.
I've seen the kid play in the seniors against seniors.
You may not have. I along with others who saw him loved his speed and his dare.
Did I mentioon his left peg finds targets, and he doesnt just bomb it.
Its because he has poise and he settles by creating space to look up and find a target.

You've been down on the kid since he was injured, and you pigeon holed him in the SOS-Austin group of perennially injured acquisitions.
He was only 18yo. It was a groin issue. That doesn't make him injury prone. He may have gone too hard for too long and did more damage.
I put that down to bad management. Groins are like that.

Nevertheless, he was delisted, but there was something in that kid.
I watched him at Sandy. That's the team I follow, along with U18 teams my mates or relos kids play in.
Carroll was much better than a lot of other who were drafted imo. So the kid earned a call up.
In fact, the kid was given a chance to earn a spot between November and February.

Not only did he stand up, he was huge during the preseason before the praccy games.
So huge, the club would be stupid to let someone of his ilk, right under their nose slip away, like they did with Lambert and others.

He was ready for a call up against Richmond. He and Lucas earned their spots.
I thought he stood out more than Lucas, but they play different positions.
Hollands was already earmarked for the HB role and Cowan was ahead of him.

Pity Carroll wasn't selected to play on the quick Tigers smalls.
Carroll is taller and quicker than Cowan.
Cowan was recruited to break lines. I haven't seen Cowan do that, instead he's panicky and slaMS BOOT TO BALL.
Comared to Cowan, Carroll is taller, quicker, shows much more poise and breaks lines with his smarts and elusiveness.
Lucas was selected, Carroll wasn't.

He is special. I'm not pigeon holing him, nor devaluing him because of age and a rolled ankle.
See his highlights from Tigers VFL praccy game. There's a reason he was highlighted.

Don't be surprised if he breaks into team this year. I'm expecting him to.
I don't mind if they hold him back. Its not my decision, nor yours

Ready or not, Lemmey has to go in the deep end tomorrow night.

Young as the 2nd ruck from CHB might work, but isn’t right now. His extra height is a moot point against the English/Darcy combo. The only way to beat them in the air is to take them off their line.

Weitering, Silvagni, Haynes, McGovern. That last bloke needs a rocket, but the quartet will work.

Lemmey or not here he comes. Sounds like a kamikaze move to me. He's got size, but which of the 2 (with Charlie) plays FF?

I don't mind that Cru, and I agree on how to deal with Darcy. Darcy is pretty quick. SOS and Weitering are the only ones with strength to move Darcy off line. He has 16cm over Haynes and 18cms on Gov; that's a lot of weight for them to move.

With Lemmey and Charlie in forwardline against Jones and Lobb, I can't see us kicking goals from marks. Therefore you are expecting Motlop Fogarty Williams and Cottrell to kick enough goals to win? Kemp?

Regardless, I feel we have the contested game to cause them issues and we will position ourselves better to run with the ball more this week. Just a hunch.

Seething? Meaning unexpressed anger. How did you see that?

Nothing different to his usual Corp Speak and mantra imo.

Deep down he'd be spewing with some of his players when they don't bust a gut, or avoid bruising.
I'm spewing about a handful of players' efforts.

I wish our players would play for frees like Hawks do. They put themselves in that position, knowing they might cop a bruise here and there.

With H being out I would contemplate bring Gov forward .
Been watching a bit of Gov lately and I would say he is the best player in the comp with maybe the expectation of Haynes at bringing the ball to ground in marking contests - this would bring our dynamic small forwards into the game.
As a matter of fact Gov can be 10 meters in the clear and he still brings the ball to ground. Its quite an unique skill which is being under utilised in the back half

Yep. Gov does have a great vertical leap, whereas Kemp needs a run and jump.

With Harry missing, Vossy has Charlie SOS and Kemp at his disposal but I like SOS' strength in the backline, hence Gov forward with Charlie, and Kemp back and play small forwards around them?

Motlop Fogarty Williams Cottrell and maybe Durdin ... land of the midgets. A bit of a tough ask for Durdin without a run for a while, who else??? White or Evans? Yeah nah...Who knows?

Vossy did say Kemp has been training for the forward role all year and SOS back so my take is that's how it will start. That gives us 1 KPF, 2 talls and 3 smalls and one on the bench or two...Williams and Motlop have a run through the middle. Come to think of it Durdin couldn't be ready.

Lucas has had his baptism, and has been subbed out a couple games, and against Doggies wingmen, Gallagher or Davidson who have more mature bodies than Lucas, may have his spot in question.

I'm on edge with this game. Not that I've lost confidence in season, but fear it may be a loss with all those missing then end up 0.3. Then I have to listen to all those Owen knock knock jokes.

Boys trained well....that makes me feels a bit better. I feels good.

No Harry again, I guess we just carry on with the high bomb into 50 and let their defenders gobble it up. Godspeed blues

The last bloke on your list needs to be dropped. Simple.

Beyond Pathetic!

Take the Kids out and bring in Evans again.. WTF...... has this Coach lost his mind?

How's Evans going to make us a better Team? VOSS is coaching for his Career. It is so abvious. He couldnt care the less about developing the kids or rebuilding our list. Its now or never for him!

What a Statement to make after 0-2 Start. Let's make that 0-3 and next week 0-4.

Happy to see Boyd back.

Puzzled by the selection of Evans. Very puzzled.

If Evans went back to the VFL and killed it, then fair enough but he didn't even do anything last week at VFL Level....

By what Logic is he brought back in????

FAR OUT :banghead: :banghead:
